13  Help! Im being moved into the garage! in Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions by Vanessa Cyanide on: June 17, 2005 02:57:33 PM
Well, not if I can help it. My mom is moving back in with us, and as a side effect, is redecorating the house. Her taste is very expensive, do no touch kinda stuff, and ours, well, its FUNCTIONAL. We have a 5 year old, so it has to be.  Her idea is to move all of our furniture into the garage and make that our living room, while she gets the real living room (which she will NEVER use, its just for looks, so that STINKS). Our idea, to make this as hassel free as possible, is to move our bed into my sons room, put his in the closet (but take the sliding doors off) and move our living room into our bedroom.
What I am posting this about, is that I need clever ideas to make a master bed room look and feel more like a living room. There is a walk in closet and a bathroom (with a sliding door) connected to this room also. We have 2 ikea couches, heres what they look like:
Do you think shelves on the walls would be too tacky?
And yes...this is not fun. thanks!!!

14  Coffin Shaped Purse ***NEW BOXES/PURSES ADDED***IMAGE HEAVY in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Vanessa Cyanide on: June 17, 2005 09:24:21 AM
Okay, so Im not sure if it should be called a purse, maybe a hand box? I dont know. Anyway, I made this the other week and finally had time to get the pictures up. Its all hand made from wood. The handle is out of skull beads, and then hand painted.
I have been on a wood box/purse building kick lately, and have a lot more done, but this is the only one Im showing you! HA!
Enjoy! (and yes, it is protected by ADT...) It is bigger than the picture looks, it is about 8 inches long.

Heres a bag I made a while back also, the patch was from my little pencil skirt, i didnt like it there so I put it here:

Heres the yellow one all finished up! I am stoked on how it turned out!

Top (it was taken before the handle so you can see the sparrows)

And heres 1 more box/purse Im currently working on to sell, so they arent finished, but I thought Id show you the progress anyway:

(im adding 2 more mermaids probably today)

15  Pint Glasses...help with pricing in Get Product and Website Opinions by Vanessa Cyanide on: June 16, 2005 10:19:37 AM
I have made these pint glasses and plan to sell them at car shows/craft shows/flea market/whatever but I am having a hard time comming up with a price for them. They dont cost a lot to make, but the time in cutting the stencils can be extensive. Anyway, what would you peeps pay for them, assuming you couldnt make them yourself (i know, all us crafters can make anything...im not selling to crafters!!! haha)
Heres some pictures:

17  Psychobilly pencil skirt ***NOW WITH TUTORIAL*** in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Vanessa Cyanide on: May 13, 2005 10:18:27 AM
My friend makes these and sells em on ebay, but not in *ahem* big butt sizes, so i finally made my own:
Heres the front:
It has a patch made by honeyshop13 (on ebay...) on the front

Heres the back, you can kinda see the black spider webs on each side:

The pictures didnt come out as good as they should have, maybe some fishnets and high heels would make em better! HAHA!
Anyway, you get the idea...the fabric is a bit stiff too, so it needs some loosenin up time.
Oh yea, and im not sure if i like the heart patch on it now or not...what do you think?

Okay, so heres the little Tutorial You all wanted:

Well, theres the pictures...haha, cant read it much...i'll type it out:

1. Measure your waist and divide by 4
2.  Fold your fabric in half and (with that measurment), draw a line a little more (for seam allouance).
Draw an outline for half the skirt and cut 2 out.  This will be your front and back
3.  Sew sides together and hem top and bottom
4.  Lay skirt flat with sides out, and cut the back pannel in half.  This is going to be the slit and zipper spot
Now hem what you just cut and sew the zipper on.  Im not good at doing zippers the professional way, so I shouldnt explain how I do it... The zipper you'll want to use should be about half the skirt length so you can have a nice slit in the back.  The length of the skirt depends on you...I make it go just a bit past my knees.
5.  Tapper the skirt from the knees up.  Just keep going until it fits snug but still leg room.
6.  You can add spider webs or whatever you want...cherry patches...i dunno...lace trim is fun too!

***Next skirt I make, I'll take pics and make a decent tutorial!***

18  My Favoritest Bondage skirt and shirt! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Vanessa Cyanide on: May 13, 2005 10:04:30 AM
Ok, so I made this a while back, but Im still in love with it. Its got 3 straps on one side and a pub towel (Blackthorn Cider!) on the other. It totally rocks my socks off.

I made this too outta stretchy zebra denim fabric and some zippers. The straps are my favorite. Ive got loads and loads of d rings and dog clips layin around, I was putting them on everything for a while!
