11  tri chem liquid embroidery? in Discussion and Questions by ohsweetie on: July 12, 2007 10:14:49 AM

i came across a fREE lot of around 60 bottles of tri-chem liquid embroidery and their go glo line. (pic below). i've done a bunch of internet research and kindo get what it is, BUT am not sure how a crafter in today's day and age would use it? is it good for stenciling?

xoxo diandra.

13  octopus bag!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by ohsweetie on: June 30, 2007 11:21:36 PM

i made this bag out of reclaimed fabrics/items. it was inspired by this awesome handsewn octopus bag i saw on etsy and for all of my searching savvy can't find now.  mine is a little more on the "cute" side while the etsy one is WAY more intricate and bigger.

this one has a brown calico lining and a burgundy 80s belt for a strap. it fits over like a messenger, but is better as a slouchy 80s shoulder bag.

thanks for looking!!

15  the confederation nation, img heavy! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by ohsweetie on: March 30, 2007 12:59:53 AM
before i moved into my new house (new town!), i lived in an art house we deemed the confederation nation (phone number ended in 1867). it was nice. here's some design pics from the house.

the majic ghost patrol graffitti the house at one of our art parties

we painted the inside of the kitchen cupboards royal purple

my mom reno'd the boot room for us! so nice!

we had a wall of telephones!! and one actually had a connection to the outside world. it was really confusing for guests!

our moms did a while you were out and built us a courtyard (with crush even!), there's a sheet on the table in this pic, but it was a tiled mosaic table, handmade by my bestfriend's/roommate's mom!

and this was the tape dispenser i taped out on my bedroom wall

thanks for looking!!

16  arty haven in the hood in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by ohsweetie on: March 30, 2007 12:50:36 AM
i wish i had some before pictures. when we came to check the place out we were desperate. there was garbage all over the floor, holes in the wall, no drain pipe under the kitchen sink, and garbage all over our lawn. needless to say it was cleaned and vacuumed when we actually moved in, but definitely not inspired.  so we added some touches though they've taken quite some time. enjoy!

these are things we put on the old yellow dresser in our bedroom.

these are some frames on our living room wall. can you believe it? the walls were already cappuccino toned!!

shoes, books, scarves, and our wingback (lookee, my sewing machine!!)

the hanging lights in our kitchen (from freecycle!! yay!)

thanks for looking loves!!

17  men's hoodie and two birds? in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ohsweetie on: January 14, 2007 06:45:12 PM
at my school, UNBC, there is a P!RG reciprocity shelf and a few months back i grabbed this xL masculine-styled hoodie and loved it (i love hoodies), but it sat in my fabric basket until today when i pulled it out, brought in the shoulder line about, oh, 8 inches (!!) and sewed some pajamashirt fabric in the hood, made the sleeves 3/4, and attached the bird-felt patch i bought in vancouver at the petri dish http://www.thepetridish.ca/index.htm

there's another picture at artificia http://artificia.blogspot.com

18  organic apple and raspberry crumble pies! in Dessert by ohsweetie on: January 06, 2007 01:17:10 PM

tomorrow we're having a small handful of people over for a potluck and i really wanted to make a crumble pie. basic recipe is "tenderflake" all vegetable shortening pie shells x2. 4 cups of organic apples (ours were previously frozen and prepared from the summer) 2 cups of organic raspberries (also frozen from the summer). i stirred the fruit with 1/4 cup of organic sugar and 2 tbsp of flour. then split it and packed it into the pie shells. then i took almost 1 cup o' margarine and mixed it with about 2-3 cups of 7 grain cereal mix (rye, barley, oat, germ, etc), 2 handfuls of organic flax sees, 2 handfuls of sugar, and 1 handful of pepitas. i mashed that all together with my hands and put it on top of the pies! now they're in the oven (on a cookie sheet! these will be wet pies!). yummmmmmmmm.
