Wow, these are all so beautiful. The differing opacity of colors is absolutely incredible.

I am instantly reminded of photos from NASA of cloud-like galaxies.

23  Coco in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Gloomilyeuphoric on: February 16, 2012 02:55:44 PM
Made this years ago

the rabbit head is made from Sculpey and painted with acrylics. There's glitter on the eyes, it's subtle, just noticeable under the veil in person. Used bits of lace, fabric scraps, netting, a button, and a rosette to create the hat and collar. The cigarette is a strip of paper that covered with glue and rolled up. Everything is glued down to a canvas board which is painted black and that is glued to a larger board covered in tan corduroy fabric. This is all set in an amazing frame which I found in a resale shop.

27  lace leftovers lampshades in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by Gloomilyeuphoric on: February 16, 2012 12:21:36 PM

I had a few scraps of lace lying about and some really hideous lamps. Add a hot, glue gun and viola! Two brand new lampshades with minimal effort.

28  serpents and satin wide belt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by Gloomilyeuphoric on: February 16, 2012 12:17:41 PM

I found a beautiful pair of vintage brass snake stampings on Etsy, and immediately knew I wanted to make a belt with them. The brass closure was another amazing Etsy find. The satin pieces are made by cutting two equal shapes out of plastic food containers, then sheathing those in satin, and stitching a boarder around the pieces. The plastic containers work well for this because they provide a sturdy flexible base for the belt and the plastic can be easily cut with scissors and sewn-through with a machine. Once the satin parts are covered, I then glued the snakes on using embellishment glue, and sewed the closures on. The elastic was the last thing to add. I made sure to go over the seams a few times to strengthen them.

29  red sequined bow pumps in Shoes: Completed Projects by Gloomilyeuphoric on: February 16, 2012 12:03:36 PM
If you have wide feet, you know how difficult it is to find just a nice, let alone fabulous pair of shoes in your size. This is the reason I made these.

They started off life as a incredibly tacky pair of red simulated suede Fioni brand pumps from Payless. I used embellishment glue and a  spool of pre-strung cup sequins to cover the pumps by wrapping the sequin around the shoe, placing each layer slightly overlapping the previous one. The suede texture of the shoe helped a lot by providing the glue with a good surface to stick to. I'm not sure this process would work with patent or leather like materials. The bows are made of cardboard covered in red cotton, with sequin glued to one side.

30  gold spike dangle necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Gloomilyeuphoric on: February 16, 2012 11:39:35 AM
Loving gold spikes, but spiked jewelry is crazy-expensive. So instead of spending a lot of money, I found some gold acrylic spikes on teh interwebs and made my own.

The spikes were the most expensive bits to buy, but even they were only like 15 dollars for two packages of different sizes. Everything was picked up pretty cheap from Etsy and eBay. It was a breeze to put together, too.
