1  Nursery makeover to Buzz Lightyear Room in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by giggles1100 on: September 01, 2005 07:26:20 PM
Now that my two boys are old enough to be out of a crib and such I needed to make over the nursery into a playroom and since my youngest decided to move back into this room as a bedroom he wanted a buzz Lightyear room, so I set to work and bought all my paint over the next few weeks on the oops paint bin aisles, I scoured all teh home Depots in a 20 mile radius to et allt eh colors I needed and as luck woudl have it I found flourescent Orange and Lime in an oops can!  Yippee, grand total to buy all supplies and paint was $28  can't beat that!  My sis and I did this in a weekend, she did the majority of the ceiling painting while I worked on the mural.

Here is the Mural, I had originally tried to use an overhead projector but I barely got Buzz's head on andnot painted ind you when my sis kicked it an dwe never could get it aligned right so I freehanded the rest.

Here is the lime stripe on the wall , that was not easy to get even but I think it is the same size all the way around the room, and the windo sill and trim around the doors is orange while the doors themselves have been painted red, like the planet Buzz is standing on.

I stamped the ceiling then I took all the stuffed 3-d stars I had made for the nursery and hung all but the pink ones back up.  The room had been the cow jumped over the moon themed since I did not know with either boy what I was having.  So I have yellow and blue stars hanging at all levels from the ceiling.

Picture of my boys in front of it so you can have a reference as to how big the mural is.

I also just finished their camping bathroom I will have to post pics of it.  I am onto working on my oldest bedroom if he will decide we are either doing a SUperman room or a formula 1 race car room soon. I wish he woudl decide so I can go look for cheap paint.

2  Re: Swiss meringue Buttercream icing... Will it work? NOW WITH PICTURE in Dessert by giggles1100 on: July 06, 2005 06:38:21 PM
Ok maybe I should have posted this pic before, here is what I am doing, this was supposedly made with that meringue.  I have decorated many cakes in my lifetime, but I normally add so much food coloring they are not as stiff, so if y'all think that buttercream will work I may just do that instead.  Icould do a royal white but if I am goingto that much trouble I will make this.

3  TWO ENTRIES: Bejeweled Dog Dish & Babysitter Check List by giggles1100 in Craftster Craft Challenges by giggles1100 on: May 31, 2005 10:18:04 PM
OK First off Please tell me if my pics do not show up as this is my first time to post pics here.

I did two projects, the first one my 5 year old came up with and he helped me glue all the stones on.  We are doggy sitting a friend's dog and they neglected to send him his doggy dish, so we not only made him a special "Regal" dish as Colesays, we made him a fancy placemat so all the other dogs will know not to go near it!  Tee Hee
Total cost $3.46,  I had the eyelash yarn and fabric paint.

Here I started with a placemat, dog dish and some beads

The finished doggie dish, this after a 2nd degree burn by the dang hot glue gun on my finger!

Placemat and bowl

Critter enjoying his new dish

The second project is a babysitter checklist, this cost $4  and is a corkboard, some shiny tissue paper and a few flowers they sell at Dollar Tree, not that cute but useful! Smiley
