1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Sterling silver bezels on: December 01, 2008 11:34:04 AM
I am looking for someone to point me in the right direction of where I can buy sterling silver bezels (I think that's what they are called) that have a  backing and a loop on top.  I basically want to make my own pendants with resin and need a 'frame' (the bezel).

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Serving Tray on: February 24, 2006 09:50:23 AM
I just completed my first bottle-cap embedded in resin project.  I have dreams of doing a table someday but this was pretty quick and easy and it gave me some experience.  Let me know what you think!

Here's the completed tray:

And here it is in use:

I really should do another thin layer of the envirotex lite (that's the resin-type stuff) but I am just too eager to use it...maybe in a few days.

I have about 1 million other bottle caps so if anyone has a suggestion for using them in crafts (because god knows when I will make the table - if ever), please suggest!

Is it crap or cute?  So far I have 3 for cute, 3 for crap and one 'I don't know.  Leave me alone'
What do you think?

P.S.  Those are Fisher Price Little People (pre-1986) for you young-uns out there.
7  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Hello Kitty Marble Magnet Necklace - reversible. on: May 06, 2005 07:35:45 PM
Made this and love it.  I just won't be able to wear it in the shower b/c the glue might desolve.  It's Kitty (two views...reversible) with sterling silver hook and loop strung on a sterling snake chain.

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / new silver necklace with pretty beads on: May 01, 2005 06:21:43 PM

Just finished this necklace, which was pretty easy.  I had the beads and the eye pins already.  I just threaded them onto an 18" sterling snake chain.  I'm pretty happy with it and I do like the colors alot.

I do have a question and that is how do I make the twisting/looping of the eye pin nice and smooth at the top?  My eye pins are sterling and about 1.5 inches long.  I'm twisting forever with my little pliers and my fingers hurt and I still can't seem to get a nice smooth finish.

Any beading experts out there with advice?
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Mosaic bowl with marble magnets? on: May 01, 2005 12:39:14 PM
I bought a really nice glass plate/shallow bowl at Marshall's the other day.  It was only a buck b/c it had some serious scratches on the paint.  Anyway, I was thinking of mosaic-ing (is that a word?) it with teensey tiny tiles but then I thought about doing it with some marbale magnets (with the magnet left off of course).  I just finished some marble pushpins....

Anyway, has anyone done a mosiac project with these marble thingys?  Will my image behind the marble glass get ruined by pressing it into plaster?
