Where did you find the bezel setting?
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Sterling silver bezels on: December 01, 2008 11:34:04 AM
I am looking for someone to point me in the right direction of where I can buy sterling silver bezels (I think that's what they are called) that have a  backing and a loop on top.  I basically want to make my own pendants with resin and need a 'frame' (the bezel).

Well, they are bottlecaps but they are somehow embedded in sterling surrounder thingies.  And 'puffed' out first.

Nice job!
I bought a gallon of that magnetic paint and was planning on painting a wall in my son's bedroom but this seems so much easier and faster.  He is 2 and just learning his A-B-C's and I desperately do not want him playing with those alphabet letter magnets on my nice new refrigerator.....he is so going to scratch it and his little hands leave marks.

So, my big question is - is the galvanized steel sheet sharp on the edges?  Or smooth?  I don't want any boo boos.

Hi Amyloooo,
Sorry it took me so long to get in touch.  I just saw the Capsters stuff @ Barnes & Noble yesterday (I wanted to see what you were talking about) and I think my resin stuff is exactly what you are looking for.  It's called ENVIROTEX LITE and I found mine at Michael's in the woodworking section.  It's not cheap so wait until you can get a 40% off coupon in the paper.
I got all of my bottlecaps on e-bay.  I have too many.  If you want, I can send you some....free...just pay shipping costs!

I just completed my first bottle-cap embedded in resin project.  I have dreams of doing a table someday but this was pretty quick and easy and it gave me some experience.  Let me know what you think!

Here's the completed tray:

And here it is in use:

I really should do another thin layer of the envirotex lite (that's the resin-type stuff) but I am just too eager to use it...maybe in a few days.

I have about 1 million other bottle caps so if anyone has a suggestion for using them in crafts (because god knows when I will make the table - if ever), please suggest!
