1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / Espresso Brownie Soap on: August 11, 2015 12:14:45 PM
This was a complete and utter mistake and it turned out so well! I'd made a batch of goat's milk soap with espresso ground coffee ground, they were very fine. But I didn't add any fragrance and I was really unhappy with it. So I rebatched it, add Turkish Mocha fragrance oil and viola!

The original soap was cream colored with flecks of coffee. Somehow during rebatching it turned into this amazing brownie color. So I put it in square molds, dusted it with mica for a little vavavoom. I need to try to make it on purpose next, as everyone is begging me for some!

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Marimekko Fabric- where to buy on: May 13, 2008 07:58:34 AM
Does anyone have some great resources online or brick and morter in Boston, New England, or New York City for Marimekko Fabric that isn't going to make me have to deny my child a college education because it costs so much?

Links are much appreciated, especially places that will sell smaller amounts.
Thank you,
4  New York / New York: NYC and Long Island / I love Book-Off!!!!! on: April 29, 2008 05:10:22 PM
Oh my goodness....
I was down in NYC visiting my friend's new place in the South Bronx, and I finally got a chance to visit Book-Off. Now I know I am behind the trend in my love of Japanese crafting books, but I really do love them. Book-Off is awesome!!!!!! I found oodles of books for $1 each and a new to me Handmade Zakka book for $6.
I love it, and can't wait to go back.
It's at 14 E 41st Street in Manhattan. They're open at 10am-8pm.
5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / My first big project- Baby Blankie on: April 08, 2008 05:37:55 AM
Inspired by the one in Doodle Stitching. That book has opened up the world of needlework to me....I'm so happy I picked it up.

This is my first biggish project, and it is my pride and joy!!! No sooner do I put the finishing touches on it, but I get an invitation to another baby shower!! The next shower's in July, so I have plenty of time. The next blankie will be all greens, and leafy images.

I am not the world's best seamstress, and a complete newbie to embroidery, but I like how it came out. I'm sure the baby will not mind any mistakes.

Well... here it is:

6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Collage packs... what price??? on: January 14, 2008 07:20:25 AM
I have been putting together packs of paper, ephemera, stickers, fibers, etc. from my humongous stash and trying to make collage/altered art/card making packs. They have various themes, some are unthemed. What price should they be? Each one is a Priority Mail envelope full of stuff... I am trying to sell them both in ebay and in my etsy store but no luck so far. I am selling them for $5 each plus postage, do you think that's too high? And lastly, does anyone know any places where it's OK to promote your etsy store?
