I love that gumball machine!  It's wicked! Haha.

Okay folks, so I received a box of awesome from kittykill on Saturday, but I've been working my butt off to earn some extra swap money, so I'm just now getting a chance to post pics.  Let me just say that Miss kill killed it!  She spoiled me bad and I love everything.

She sent me an awesome lacey wreath, and a super spanking amazing hoop of a dapper Halloween dude who initially I thought was a gourd/pumpkin head, but now I'm thinking he's a skull head.  It doesn't really matter though because I love him to bits.

Thank you so much kittykill! Love it!

133  Re: Mini 13 Days of Halloween Gallery in The Swap Gallery by La Chapa on: September 10, 2013 01:47:14 PM
I received my package today!  It came opened and a little damaged, so hopefully everything made it.  The post office from my city had the nerve to put a sticker on it claiming that they received it damaged, like that's supposed to be some sort of disclaimer.  Then the post man dropped it at my door (on top of a squished snail!) and bolted without waiting for me to answer.  I got snail guts all over my kitchen table!  Eeww, eww, eww!  It made me nauseous.   Anyway, I'm just glad it's here!  I will get to posting pics a.s.a.p.

DAY 1
A jar with a creepy doll face!  I love the verde gris look.  And it's full of the good Halloween candy!  So of course the whole family got a piece.  Just one though, because that's how I eat my candy.  I instantly knew where to put it.  On my kitchen counter! (just ignore the fugly countertop--I rent)  Smiley

AND, the little fella had about a half an hour of fun with the bubble wrap it was wrapped in!  Bonus!

DAY 2
Sebastian's day!  Sweetyetevil was sweet enough to craft a day for my 3-yr-old! The package was already ripped open and there's a lot of stuff loose in the big box, so there may have been something else in there for him I'm not sure.  I figure I'll go through whatever is left in the box on the last day!  Anyway, he got a Halloween painting with his initial on it (love the colors on this!), 2 masks to color, some Scooby Doo stickers (which he grabbed first!), and a glowing safety necklace.  I'm totally the mom that makes her kids wear those too!  He enjoyed his package and would say thank you if he had any manners yet.  He's currently a manner-less, monster, terror of a child (don't let the big eyes fool ya!)

DAY 3
An awesome mug in a cute little house box thingy.  There was an eyeball in the mug which was funny, but I'm not sure if it was sweetyetevil with the sense of humor, or the post office since my box arrived opened and looking like it had been rummaged through.  I already bought new paint brushes to put in the mug (I use all my favorite mugs this way Smiley)

DAY 4
A fun doorknocker (that really works btw!), and a cute journal and matching pen.  So glad I got Day of the Dead stuff.  I'm really big on that Holiday and don't think I even remembered to mention that in my questionnaire.

DAY 5
Gasp!  Is literally the sound I made when I opened today's package.  The best Bride of Frankenstein mini pillow EVER!  I put her high on the shelf because I have a crazy, destructive little monster-child, and I will seriously cry if anything happens to her!

DAY 6
Sweetyetevil didn't number her packages and told me to just have fun picking and choosing, so I've mostly been doing them grab bag style.  Since its the weekend, I decided to pick out the one that was marked for my teenage son Xavier.  She made the awesomest magnetic board with skull resin magnets for him!  He totally dug it!  I have such a hard time finding things to make for him that he actually wants now that he's "older."  This was just brilliant!  It has a hole to hang it from the wall, and a large magnet on the back if he wants to use it in his locker!
I also couldn't resist opening something small for myself.  I got the best smelling jack-o'lantern bars ever!  I'm not sure if they're soap or moisturizing bars or what, but I must find out because I am dying to use them so I can smell like a rock star!

DAY 7
A pretty, sparkly papier-mache pumpkin lantern, complete with led flickering candle.  It has holes in it for the light to sparkle through.  Also, a glittery skull on a bendy stick which I am going to use as a plant poke in my indoor fern.

DAY 8
Some brown sugar body scrub cubes!  They are caramel apple scented and they smell sooo gooood.  I can't make anything even remotely like this so I'm super stoked!  I also got another cute little house box, a BOO skeleton sign, and I found some crayons which I'm thinking probably came out of Sebastian's package.  He loves coloring and goes through crayons a lot.

DAY 9
Two awesome quilted mug rugs and a cute plant poke.  I love these so much that I'm thinking of just hanging them like wall art.  My favorite part is the little Dracula.

DAY 10
My new favorite piece of jewelry!  A scrabble tile bracelet with classic monsters!  I'm wearing this everday!

DAY 11
Some smoothing, super moisturizing, yummy smelling salt scrub, a fuzzy wuzzy spider, and another adorable house box for my collection.

DAY 12
Not one but TWO super cool  two-sided Walking Dead/Zombie necklaces.  My husband was literally sitting across the table reading the graphic novel when I opened these.  I also received two fun stickers.  One is of that awesome spider lady!  AND the coolest novelty ring ever. Totally wearing this to work for the rest of the month!

DAY 13!!
A smorgasbord of goodies!  Including: Some awesome magnets, a skeleton guy, some monstery paper embellishments, glow stick necklaces, a kitty plant poke, a cool skull scrapbook kit with scrapbook paper goodness, some Walking Dead ribbon, novelty tissues with a spider on it, some candy, and a crazy cool eyeball ornament!

Here's a close up of the magnets and eyeball ornament.

In closing, I'd like to thank Sweetyetevil for all the amazing stuff.  I love everything!

I got my goodies from whenindoubtsew!!!

Prepare your wisting fingers because she sent me some awesome stuff!

A cupcake Sally doll, an extremely well done and beautiful Corpse Bride hoop, and a poly clay Frankenweenie pin!  Sally is my second cupcake doll (I also have a Bride of Frankestein one), and I am hooked!  I love these dolls so much, I think I'm going to start a collection.  The hoop is perfect for my monster hoopla wall, and Frankenweenie is just adorbs!  I think I'll make him a Persephone.  I love everything so much!  Each item is perfect.  Thank you so much whenindoubtsew, and don't worry about me having to wait, I really didn't mind at all.  Smiley

Your craft wall looks awesome, and it looks like your new hoop fits right in!  Wink

And here is the awesome hoop I got from The Raging Sloth.  It is so perfect that I have to believe that she did an amazing job stalking me!  Oh, and props to bananasandhair for pairing us up so well!

Look at the cute little bug on its head!!  Thank you!  I love it so much!

Challenge/Battle/Alert: June Multimedia, Disco
Team/Ninja: Team Monster!
Project Geekdom (if any): monsters
Bonus Points: super nerdy bonus
Project Name: Corpse Bride butterflies jewelry set
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: At the end of Tim Burton's film The Corpse Bride, Emily (the living corpse) transforms into hundreds of blue butterflies.  Seeing as how she is a zombie or something similar, I consider her a monster.  This project qualifies as a "disco" project because even though you can't really see it too well in the picture, I used sparkly polymer clay.  After shaping, my hands were all sparkly and glittery.  If you work with sparkly clay, be sure to use it LAST, as even washing won't get out all the sparkle, which will then stick to any other color clay you touch!

I love how nerds will totally nerd-out their children too!  Also, that mini hat is fantabulous!

Challenge/Battle/Alert:  May Textbook, Prime numbers
Team/Ninja: Team Monster!
Project Geekdom (if any):  Monsters
Bonus Points:  super nerdy bonus, discovery
Project Name: The Pincushion Queen
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description:  Really this is a double geekdom project for me as I am as obsessed with anything that Tim Burton created as I am with monsters.  So naturally a Tim Burton monster is extra special to me!  Anyway, this is the Pincushion Queen from his poem of the same name.  If you observe closely, you will see that each of her arms has 3 white beads, and 3 red beads.  Each of her legs has 5 white beads, and 5 red beads.  In addition, she has been pierced by a total of 11 pins!  Also, its my first time crafting with pony beads!  I've had a huge bag of them that my sister de-stashed onto me years ago, but have never really found a use for them until now!  This is my first ami with beaded legs/arms, but something tells me that it won't be the last!  AND, it's my first time adding felt clothing onto an ami!

Project Picture: one photo shows the arms better, the other shows the legs better

Team/Ninja: Team Monster!
Project Geekdom (if any): bugs and insects (again)
Bonus Points: nerdy
Project Name: Snail Earrings
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: I think I've already established that I'm a huge nerd when it comes to insects, bugs, spiders, snails and all other bug-like creepy crawlies, but I'm repeating it just because of how large the games are, and how slim the chances are that anyone actually remembers.  Anywho, I made these for my sister for her birthday.  I had actually pre-made a bunch of the snail charms a month or two ago, but I only just decided to make these two into some earrings.  The round beads above the snails are actually repurposed beads from an old necklace.

Yay! so glad you like everything!  I totally forgot to mention that I placed the pins on the pincushion queen that way because I was afraid they might fall out and you might prick yourself.  My intention was for you to set them up however you like once you received.  Here is how I envisioned it.

Technically, I suppose she could even be used as an actual pincushion.  Grin

Challenge/Battle/Alert: May Fandom: Worth the Wait
Team/Ninja: Team Monster
Project Geekdom (if any): Insects
Bonus Points: Discovery, Nerdy
Project Name: Decoupage Birdhouse
Project Page Link (if available):
Brief Description: My eldest son made this little birdhouse with my Dad at a Home Depot demo class for children about 6 or 7 yrs ago.  It was originally just raw wood.  I had been hoping that he would paint it himself one day, but I got tired of waiting and it was starting to warp and rust and such, so I figured it was time to take matters into my own hands.  I decided to decoupage book pages and some butterfly stickers onto it and paint the edges a teal green.  Then I gave it a light brown wash to make it look slight more aged.  I have been obsessed with insects and other small invertebrates since my uncle took me to my very first Bug Fair when I was about 10 years old.  Now, I have an extensive collection of bug related decor, including some mounted specimens, and I recently acquired a pair of millipedes at the 27th annual Insect Fair.  I've been going to the fair since the 3rd annual one.  I also have a pair of golden mystery water snails that I love to death.  We're talking serious nerdyverse here.  Anyway, it's my first decoupage project & I actually had to buy Modge Podge as I did not have any.

Project Picture:
Here it is back in September, all primed and ready.  Just ignore the other items in the shot.

Not sure why it took me so long to finish it.  I think I was just indecisive about how to do it.
