81  I'm a fairytale balloon lady!! in Completed Projects by nushybum on: September 18, 2005 05:49:52 AM

A friend of my mum's has recently gone on a balloon course, as well as a face painting one. So now I, too, can blow up helium balloons and paint fantasy faces!

The rascal.....

(Yes, that's bits of a barbie behind it, I'm doing an art source page on Age...I took off her head and drew wrinkles with biro on one side of her face....it was a cheapo fake barbie anyway....)

83  RRAWR, TIGER! - First duct tape operation a success! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by nushybum on: August 28, 2005 01:12:33 PM
Yay! Today, after a trip to Homebase (the only shop that I have found which does fun duct tape colours - i.e. grey, black and **ORANGE**) I came back with these:

A while later, I had.....THIS!

(Yes, I know: messy room, skirt clashes. So what?)
On the door (forgot to rotate pic)

The inside. There's a pocket, shown by the measuring tape and highlighter.

I showed it to my family, and after my grandma went "wow! Well done!" and my went "Oh you're mad: another one of those craftster internet things," they were larfing because they fully expect the bag to fall apart.

QUESTION: How does duct tape hold up in hot weather?Huh? Does it melt??

Also, may make a matching pencilcase if I can figure out how.

84  Handpainted lotus bowl in Glass Crafts: Completed Projects by nushybum on: August 21, 2005 10:41:07 AM
It's my grandma's birthday today, and I spent all of last night painting this:

It's a floating candle bowl, so I painted on the bottom (to lessen risks of the paint chipping.)

All the pretty flowers....

Golden butterfly and creamy lotus.

*hopes this is the right board for this.* Oh ho ho! No need to worry now that Craftster has a glass board!

85  Re: Computer Earrings Tutorial (as requested in the Earring Binge Swap) Img Heavy! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by nushybum on: July 30, 2005 11:02:38 AM

They took a while......Do ye like? Are ye proud, kaleesi? The little cats were murder, and the dangly bits took the longest. I like the beads.

86  Re: Hot Red Furry Monster Slippers! (Now with Tutorial) in Shoes: Completed Projects by nushybum on: June 13, 2005 11:41:12 AM
I made them!!!

I did them about a month ago, for my aunt's b'day (she's the one modelling them, below), but have only just found a minute to post 'em. They were quite expensive. Note the funky snakeskin vinyl on the bottoms.

Modelled by Ikea Cushion:

Slippers in my aunt's living room:

Aunt showing groovy soles in her kitchen:

Wa-hay!! They're weightlifter slippers! Arnie schwartzeslipper!

I think she's naming them ted and mildred. Or something and mildred. You like?

87  Look at my sadly rubbish tote! From a too-tight skirt! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by nushybum on: June 12, 2005 07:58:15 AM
Look at it! I spent AGES on it today (the sewing machine kept on breaking) and it breaks my heart that it's so crap. Gr. But, anyhoo....

The outside. Modelled by a chair:

The lining. Note the loose threads that I've been too lazy to cut off. And the pocket. It fits my German book in (shown):

What do you think? Is that bad? Straps are lovely thick ribbon, it's made from a glittery denim skirt that's too tight to breathe in. And the lining is scraps of old quilt.

EDIT: Ha ha. Got the pictures the wrong way round.
