1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Christmas Crafty Gift for Dale Jr. Fan...HELP! on: November 29, 2005 11:06:18 AM
My dad and brother are obsessed also, and they have every t-shirt imaginable too.  For my dads birthday I got a glass container and used etching creme to put a number 8 and my dad's initials on it.  Then I put a bunch of tea bags in it because he likes tea.  You could make him a personalized jar thing and bake some cookies to put in it.  Maybe you could make cookies in the shape of an 8 or a car.... Huh
2  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Crockpot/slow cooker recipes on: November 22, 2005 10:04:17 AM
This one has chicken in it, but it would still be good if you skipped it.  I love this stuff (chicken stew??) and it's pretty healthy.
1 lb. Boneless Skinless Uncooked Chicken Breasts, cubed
1 (14. oz.) Can Italian Diced Tomatoes, undrained
2 Medium Potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes
2 Cups Carrots, chopped
3 Celery Ribs, Chopped
1/2 Onion, chopped
1 Medium Green Pepper, chopped
1 teaspoon Chili Powder
1/4 teaspoon Pepper
2 Cups Cold Chicken Broth
1 1/2 cup rice
Put everything except rice in your crockpot on low 8-10 hours or high 5-7 hours.  10 minutes before serving, turn off heat and pour in rice.  Serve when rice is tender.
3  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: where to buy guitar picks in bulk for a xmas craft? on: November 16, 2005 02:31:40 PM
That's so funny because I'm trying to figure out how to make a tree ornament wreath out of green picks for my honey!  A big one would look SO cool!  I wouldn't have the patience though.  Good luck and be sure to post a picture!

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Gift for deer hunter?? on: November 06, 2005 01:36:34 AM
Assuming he cooks up the deer...you could put together a recipe book for him.  I bought a venison cookbook at borders for my dad once and he loved it.  Or put together (or buy) some spices/rubs or marinades and put them in containers with custom labels.
6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Unconditional Swapper Swap - OCTOBER (gallery) on: November 05, 2005 11:24:25 PM
I got 2 beautiful necklaces and a bunch of great 'craft crap' from Starsix last week.  Please excuse these horrible pics....they don't do the necklaces justice. Especially the blue one, the colors are so pretty.  And my camera doesn't like to take pics of jewelry...the only ones that kinda worked are the ones modeled by my honey's amp (or speaker...or moniter...it's all over my head!) Anyhow...pictures!

Thanks again starsix!

So daydreamer15379 fulfilled my wish for craft crap.  Here's all the goodies.

She gave me SO many different things!  Thanks again!

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Confirmation gift... on: November 02, 2005 07:44:10 PM
im not really sure but ill just throw out some iideas, for the nascar i have no clue, for hunting maybe you could make one of those practice deer that people shoot at, or buy him something camo/make it. playstation you could buy him a game or make idk maybe a pillow and a blanket, (idk bout him but when i play video games i like a fluffy pillow to prop against and a blaket) and as for the redneck part anything confederate, lol if you need more elboration (like on ideas) juss ask
thanks for all the ideas.  They're SO perfect....but he has everything  Tongue He's got a fake deer and a 'video chair' thing.  And I guess I should clarify that he's a northern redneck...I guess 'hick' is a better term  Wink  Thank you though!!! Maybe I'll make him a camo pillow.....
I like doing religious stuff for confirmations, myself, so I'd suggest making a really cool cross to hang on his wall. Out of wood or metal or something...but maybe that's not his/your sort of thing.
I didn't want to do anything religious because that's not his sort of thing.  But if I could find/make a cool cross out of something interesting...it would work... Any ideas what I could do?  Haha...maybe a camo/blaze orange cross.  Somehow I don't think those go together  Wink
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Confirmation gift... on: November 02, 2005 06:19:44 PM
So...my brother is getting confirmed in a couple weeks and I want to make or buy him a gift.  He's 15 and a typical teenage kid.  He likes nascar, hunting, playstation...he's kind of a redneck....  I don't know what to get him.  It doesn't have to be anything religious, but maybe something more adultlike.  I thought I could get him some cologne, but I don't know what else.  He doesn't wear jewelry, or have a truck yet.  Also, he's not a big fan of clothes (even though I usually resort to earnhardt t-shirts and hats and he deals with it). I don't live at my parents anymore, so I don't know what he needs/wants.  Ahhhh! I'm clueless!  Anyone have any ideas?  Thanks so much!!!!
