1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Loom Knit Bear Cowl on: February 10, 2014 11:06:49 AM
Basicly, you take the largest round loom (the yellow for me) and use crochet cast on. Then knit a row and then purl a row. The knit until the cowl part is as long as you want. (I did 7 inches) Then switch over to flat panel knitting on every peg for 10-12 inches. (I did 10) and do a flat panel bind off. Then seem the top together using this method http://anonyknits.blogspot.com/2006/10/seaming-better-than-you-remembered.html. For the bear ears, I used the blue loom and used 14 pegs and did 6 rows and did similar to this technique https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IgwZl5F8q9k
and then sewed them on. It will fit from a toddler to adult. LOL. I've had it on my 4, 6, and 8 year old (the 4 year old is about the size of a 18 month old) and then my brilliant hubby decided he was going to wear it too.

There isn't a pattern, sorry. I make up all my hats as I go. I do not use patterns.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knifty Knitters! on: March 28, 2012 05:53:47 PM
I made a flat panel on the blue loom using all the pegs and alternated knit/purl rows for the first 4 rows and knit for the rest and seemed it together in the back so it was bonnet style. I then used the tutorial for bear ears on a loom to make 6 purple "petals" and just whipped stitched them into place.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A Completly Loom Knitted Flower Hat on: March 28, 2012 08:53:01 AM
My cousin loves purple and saw a flower hat on Pineterest. She asked if I could make one like it since I will be taking newborn pictures. I do not know how to knit, and only use knitting looms. So, I made the bonnet part and then saw a tutorial for bear ears. I thought a bunch of those would look like petals. (Please excuse the pictures, I took it quickly with my cell phone to make sure it was ok with her)

You either need to use 2 strands, or use a bulky yarn.
