1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Lunch Room Envy Swap on: February 05, 2015 02:57:44 PM
Just putting out some feelers... I have recently started a new job that requires me to take my own lunches in (either that or suffer a rapidly expanding waist-line!!) and I just cant get excited about it. No matter how many lovely recipes I find and make, it seems so dreary to take it in bog-standard plain Tupperware, and all the 'lunch box' items I can find are clearly made for children!

Would anyone be interested in a 'lunch item' swap to make their colleagues/ neighbours/ anyone else who might see them jealous? It could involve crafting items like; lunch bags, cutlery wraps, customised boxes, mug sleeves, re-usable napkins and so on and so forth...

I haven't thought about swap size/ time scale or anything, I just want to see if anyone would want to be involved!
2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / Finding someone to make a photo into art on: July 27, 2014 04:25:42 AM
Hi, first of all sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

I need help! or at the very least advice... I want to have a drawing/ painting/ something artistic made from a photograph and havent the foggiest where to start.

I want to give it to my SO as an anniversary gift. There is a particular picture of the two of us on holiday that he adores, and I think it would be the perfect gift. I have tried to draw it myself, but it just doesnt work!!  Art was never my strong point at school, I havent really tried since, and I think I need to face up to the fact that I should stick to crafting!!

I know it is the thought that counts, but I want to display it in our first home, which we are saving to buy at the moment so I want it to look good, and not like a child has drawn it (which is how my versions look!) Sad

There seem to be websites who claim they will do this for you, but the 'artists' are anonymous, and Im just not too sure about them in general

Any help/ advice would be gratefully received!!

3  Halloween / Halloween Decor and Parties / Halloween Phone Cover Revamp on: October 04, 2012 07:32:48 AM
When I upgraded my phone a few months back, I got a free cover with it, but unfortunately didnt get a choice of colours. I am not a big fan of orange, so it has been sitting in my drawer all lonely and forgotten. I felt sorry for it, so have given it a new lease of life for halloween!

I really like how it turned out Smiley It is just sharpie though, so may need sealing..... any advise/ suggestions greatly received!
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My First Forray Into Plush Things!! on: January 11, 2012 09:36:55 AM

I have long lusted after the verious fluffy monsters that I have seen popping up all over, so I thought that i would try t make one of my own. I made the round-eared one first, and then decided she needed a boyfriend so she wouldnt be lonely.

Havent decided what to do with them yet, I'm not too sure on the right way to display monsters!!
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Zombie baby! on: January 11, 2012 09:20:29 AM

Here is my first attempt at amigurumi, I must say that love him! After years of sticking to granny squares I thought I would try doing something a little bit cuter.

What do you think?
