1  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / Re: Am I the only 1 to struggle with this???? on: July 03, 2005 01:20:54 PM
O.k.- please excuse my stupidity here. I am trying to be the cool auntie for my 15 year old niece, but I am not able to help her and am quickly looking not so brilliant.
My question is:
She wants to sand off the design on the back of her skateboard and paint a new one. So we have been sanding and painting a background. Now we want to stencil a boombox onto the surface.
The stencil is quite detailed and I am missing something here. Do we cut out the black or the white?! Neither seems right. Can I not use the boombox because of its heavy detailing?
Thanks in advance for your help. If I can figure this out for her, I will be the cool aunt again- and of course all will be well with the world.

I would sooo appreciate a boombox stencil.
Thank you very much if this is a possibility.

Oh- and I have the Salvador Dali museum here if anyone is into his stuff. And I can get a lot of sharks teeth- some people make some cool crafts with them.

Well, I am in sunny beachy Florida which, frankly, bores me to tears- BUT.... maybe some of you would be interested in shells, alligator thingies, we have tons of tacky tourist things, nautical items.
I know I would love love to get anything different than these things for myself.
Any interest?

Ebay does have them- cheap. Thanks for the tip.
How many are needed for the coffee table?
I'll post as soon as I get done with mine.

It sounds to me like your Papa would have loved that idea. You can keep a little bit of him with you always.
Chin up!
