Get a Hobby!: 101 All-Consuming Diversions for Any Lifestyle by Tina Barseghian is a great book for when you want to try out a new craft but have no clue about it.  So it helps start you off.  What's cool is that you take a quiz and that will help determine what type of crafts you are more likely to do.  Also, it points out how crafting is good for relieving stress (which is a bonus lol).  I definitely recommend it as I'm always ready to try out something new.

Lots of impressive stuff in this gallery.  Do you mind my asking what is the night sky box about?  (I'm a new Who.)  Cheesy
23  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / Swap Gallery Organization Suggestion on: August 13, 2007 05:40:37 PM
I have always wondered about this and would like to know if other people have as well.  You know when you see a swap round #x?  Well, wouldn't it be great to have all those swaps grouped according to theme?  For instance, all the earring binge swaps' galleries in one thread, all the altoid tin swaps' galleries in one thread, etc.  Anyone else think this is a nice way to organize the swap themes?

25  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: My lego stuffs!!!! on: August 06, 2007 07:08:51 PM

actually, I melted a needle and kinda made a hole in the lego (which proved to be trickier than it sounds cause the rhinestone has to sit nicely in the hole). Then I just used hot glue...
Thanks for the tip--they look better than that store's link

Love your story about how you've dragged the watches around for years.
Agreed--it looks vintage-y and also reminds me of another project where someone created a bracelet out of rings no longer used
27  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Fill-a-Box Supply Swap 5 (aka: The End of Summer Fill a Box Swap) on: August 06, 2007 06:51:04 PM
Hi all--I received today.  In my box I found crochet hooks (which are quite nice) and yarn; shells; seed beads; earring hooks and jewelery wire; some doll shoes which are going to become a bracelet; and some stuff that looks like what you put a golf ball on (I think?).  Thank U
28  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: plastic laundry detergent bottle? on: August 01, 2007 05:14:24 PM
I dunno about bottles but you can use the ones that are boxed and handled for magazine holders  Just decorate the outside and voila  Argh the punctuation key doesn't work

I used an old metal clarinet for mine - picked it up at an antique store for $30ish - turns out their worthless and most instrument repair places throw them away as junk...

Would love to see a photo. Smiley  And thanks for the tip!
