11  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / "Fear No Evil"-The Colt on: March 06, 2013 08:10:17 AM
Sooooooo... I'm officially obsessed with Supernatural.
It's official when I've taken a week of my life to embroider a firearm....
ah well.

The lettering, while a little hard to read when photographed, looks quite nice in person, and is accented with silver metallic thread.

It will take all my self-control to not immediately begin stitching up the impala....

This is great! I love how you gave the piece so much texture.

Thank you! stitching hair is one of my favorite things!   and I'm thinking about going back and using a darker gray to define the feathers a bit more... we'll see.

Oh how cute! His hair is stunning! Did you use a variegated thread or several different shades of brown?

Thanks!!  I used 3 different shades of brown. I start with the darkest and block in his hair, then fill in the gaps with the middle shade, and then add some highlights with the lightest.  I've found it easier to control the look that way.

Supernatural is a new obsession of mine, especially Castiel.
and while I'm in the planning stages of a Supernatural Quilt, I thought I'd do some embroidery to pass the time.

I think I will make a Dean Winchester one, so they can hang side by side on my wall. <3

yes! I tried to make each one different. Which is hard when there are only so many zombie faces one can make. Cheesy

A friend had a zombie themed birthday party, so of course I needed the cookies to go with it!
I used IAmBaker's sugar cookie recipe: http://iambaker.net/christmas-cookies-cookie-recipe which always makes great cookies.  I also used her icing recipe and some melted chocolate to decorate.

anyway, here they are!

WARNING! ICING BLOOD FOLLOWS! even I was feeling a bit ill looking at it...
