1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Worlds Largest ( craftster ) Quilt...... on: August 30, 2005 11:41:27 PM
I was discussing my idea in a different thread but finally decided to go through with it.

I was wondering if you ( well actually EVERY craftster member ) would like to personalize a quilt block telling about yourself, what you like,  etc and send it to me.. and I can quilt them together.

If all works out, I hope to get Craftster ( or just all of the participants ) recognized by  Guiness World Records or whatever for the largest quilt.

Is anyone interested? I am soooo into this now hah I just wanna quilt quilt quilt!!!! I dont care how big it is or how long this project takes.. I am destined to it! We can make the quilt squares a nice size just so we can fit everything in. Any say to the size of the blocks? Maybe hmmm 10x10?

Read somewhere the largest quilt is 85 ft. by 134 ft. HAHA THats gonna be lots of quilting but it will be worth it... to me anyways
2  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Black, Red, & White Room Decor on: August 29, 2005 02:26:49 AM
First off.... sorry for the poor cropping on the table pic, the dirtiness of the fan, and the discoloration on the white on the bed ( its just due to the dull light in there ).

The Bed. I bought all the pillows and sheets. Red & Black satin or silk sheet set. I made the curtains for my canopy bed. Just bought several yards of Red & Black mesh/tulle ( or something like that ). Cut to length ( 2 yards each panel ).. sewed the top and fed all 12 on the rods to my bed.

My fan. I just took it apart and spray painted it then re-assymbled. For a different effect.. I painted the base/stand red then rushed over it with black spray paint.. it now has a marble like effect.

The Tables ( I have identical ones on both sides of my bed ). I just took a cheap 'nude' decorators table from walmart ( well the first one was fromt he thrift store a while back for $1 ). Then painted them with black spray paint. Added red star stickers and added a finish. Then hot glued the cheap ( yet gorgeous ) feather boa around the edge. The lamp on the table was blue and I spray painted it black and painted red and white stars on it.

Not Pictured...

My trashcan!!! I spray painted the inside red and the outside  black. I normally use a white bag in it.

My little organizer boxes. They sit on my computer desk ( 3 lil drawed things ). I have 6 of them on my desk with odds & ends in em. They used to be purple and blues. I took em out back and painted em!! Colors coordinate on the desk.. Black.. White.. Red.. and so on.

Anyways, my room isnt the best cuz I got ugly mismatched tiles on the floor and boring white walls ( and cant change em Sad ) but I do what I can do. I still have way too much color in my room. Eventually, I will convert everything to just Black, Red, and a bit of white.
