1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Futurama Pixel Cross Stitch on: January 18, 2012 05:36:34 AM
I attempted my first ever cross stitch last week from a free pattern by wee little stitches
( http://weelittlestitchescrossstitch.blogspot.com/2012/01/free-pattern-futurama.html )

The cool pattern was the inspiration I needed to take up cross stitch. Before then I thought it was all flowers and kittens! Looking around on here... I have been proven completely wrong there!!

I was quite surprised by how long it took to complete, its very time consuming, but very easy to get completely 'in to' and lose a whole evening. Very easy to make mistakes too. There were a couple of bits that I messed up from the pattern but didnt even realise till I held it away and took a good look  Sad but im really pleased with it.

This picture is how it looks finished (needs a good iron!)

This is really lovely and given me a great idea of what to do with some vintage buttons I've been undecided on what to use them for  Smiley

Your first attempts are really good. I've just completed my first ever cross stitch so I know just how time consuming and easy it is to make silly mistakes. Hasnt put me off though, quite the opposite!
