Thanks for all the compliments! Cheesy My brother and I are huge Monty Python fans so he was really surprised and excited about his cake.

OK  I have to ask ... How do you get your icing so smooth ?

I use an off-set icing spatula. I just slap on the icing to cover the whole cake, then comb the sides and carefully pull the extra icing in across the top from the sides, taking off the excess.
