1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Finished doll made from lining material... on: April 30, 2006 03:09:59 PM
Daughter and I made this doll. First doll I've ever tried to sew. Daughter stuffed the body parts and I sewed it all together, it took a while 'cause Daughter wanted the head to be stiff and not flop to the side.

Her face is sewn and next time I'll attempt to do the face before sewing up the head as this was harder to do than I first thought.

I also ended up unpicking her "bottom" and re-stuffing her body after attaching the head, to make the neck stiffer. Now I need to make her some clothes. Son wants a boy doll now after seeing the results from this one.

Those wee tops are gorgeous and even more cool because they aren't hearts and ducks etc. Very neat!

5  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Finished skirt for daughter on: November 22, 2005 04:03:54 PM
So this used to be her brother's pants that the knees were completely ripped out of. I fiddled around and made it into a wee skirt. She loves it.
