31  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Suggestions for a beginner. on: April 16, 2006 10:52:35 AM
why not try knitting mittens to along with the scarves? if you still don't know a lot about the different stitches, increases, decreases, using dpns, then i suggest you use http://www.knittinghelp.com.

here are some patterns that i have found:

sure, it's a little out of season, but just think of how happy you'll be next winter when you have so many pairs of mittens to keep you warm. besides, christmas presents, anyone?

35  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Because I don't already have enough to do! Would you use a site like this? on: March 07, 2006 04:35:19 PM
YES! sounds perfect! it would be nice to have a lot of patterns in one location and different things all tied in together. it would definitely be a nice resource; something i would most certainly have bookmarked. and i'm sure if you asked people to help out, they'd be completely willing to.

I knit about a million pairs of those for Christmas. They fit my teeny hands... five inches from base of palm to top of middle finger.

thank you. how about the width? seriously, my hands are childlike. Wink

thanks again for your help, guys. much appreciated. i think i shall have some fun making mittens over the next couple of months.

40  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / knit these mittens? on: March 03, 2006 08:25:48 PM
just wondering if anyone's knit these mittens... if yes, what are the resulting measurements? i am looking for a pattern for my unusually small hands. looking for something using dpns (to challenge myself!), that will fit and looks nice. unfortunately i haven't come up with anything. i also don't really want to look into altering existing patterns because i'm sure i won't do that well! anyways, any answers/suggestions would be appreciated. thank you!
