11  Purple cat with a bird on it's tail in Needlework: Completed Projects by GumInMyHair on: April 23, 2008 01:30:27 PM
I saw this cat at Hoop Love and wanted to put it on a towel. I added a bird because I just thought it needed it. The rick rack isn't sewn on yet and it's not ironed. I am going to mail it to my mom as part of her Mothers Day gift.

Thanks to JenB, Kittykill, and TreeCactus for their advice. The back looks very neat.

12  Re: 2008 12" Squares ~ FEB in Crochetalongs by GumInMyHair on: February 12, 2008 08:14:30 PM
craftADDchick, your square looks good. I never thought of putting the chains in after I finished the square. Good idea.

mochaxlight, I like Waldo's Puzzle. I think I might have to make one too.

Here is my Feb. square.

It really is straight on the edges, I just didn't straighten it out for the pic. Just tossed it on the floor.

Here is my square. It's Caron Simply Soft in dark sage. I am finishing my second square today. It is the same color in the center with a variegated border. Picture soon. I chose these colors because they were in my stash  Smiley

I had to add a row of dc and a row of hdc to get 12"  On my second square I'm using a J hook.

kathj, do you have a link to the third square you made as a filler (basketweave ?) Thanks for sharing the first link. Go ahead and post a link to the second square while your at it. You know someone is going to ask for it soon  Cheesy

17  Easy no-sew dog shirt from sweatpants in Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects by GumInMyHair on: November 06, 2007 06:22:45 AM
This shirt is so easy to make, I wanted to share it with those of you who have dogs that get cold in the winter months.

Just get a pair of old sweatpants (makes 2 shirts Smiley). Make sure the cuff fits comfortably around the dogs neck. Cut it the length you need (measure from neck to tail). Then cut out the arm holes. This fabric doesn't need hemmed. Decorate if you want to. So warm and easy!

Sorry the pics are so grainy, but I think they show the fit pretty well.

18  Heavily embroidered towel. Aunt Martha and original designs. My debut. in Needlework: Completed Projects by GumInMyHair on: September 11, 2007 11:57:42 AM
I loved the Tea Towel Tour (right here at Craftster) so much that I had to learn to embroider too.

Here's my towel. It's mostly backstitch with a little satin stitch and sharpie and whatever felt right  Cheesy. I used Aunt Martha patterns (the cups and tea pot) and then drew everything else on it (I don't know why, but I like the tea bag).

Since this is my first attempt, I'd really appreciate knowing what you think. Thanks!

Try to ignore that it still has pencil marks on it and hasn't been ironed yet.

Everyones cloths are very nice so far! Jenny_bloodless, you used pretty colors. They look great. Ezri_B, I really like the stitches you picked. I will have to check out the granite stitch too.

Here are the dishcloths I made for crazy_girl.  She has received so I thought I'd just post pics just to keep this thread moving  Smiley
The yellow one is supposed to be a star.
