11  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Not what I wanted...an ultra ballerina dress on: July 30, 2005 05:43:33 PM
Okay...this is my first ever t-shirt re-con and I think adding the ruffles was a BIG no-no Tongue. I reallly wanted the ruffles  Embarrassedbut it didn't come out the way I wanted. I was inspired by the dress here https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=10987.0 Grin and was trying to come up with one similiar to it. Well, anyways...I went ahead and tried my own version and came up with this ultra girly, frumpy, ruffly, ballerina-ish t-shirt dress. Whad'ya think? Huh

The words in this pic is what I embroidered on the shirt.
Here's a close up of it.
I can post a tute if you want... Grin

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / A Question not answered in the Knitting FAQ! on: May 28, 2005 09:01:34 PM
I'm a little confused. I'm about to start teaching my self how to knit and I want to buy all my materials that I might need: Knitting needles, yarn, and the list goes on, but before I waste my money buying any unneeded stuff. What are stitch markers, I know they are to mark your stitches, but what stitches and why? Huh
16  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Pleats-How do you do them?!! on: May 28, 2005 05:24:39 PM
I'll move it if it's in the wrong forum, but since the pleats are for a bag I'm making-(a slouch hobo bag Huh any way the thread where you can find it is here https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=35575.0 ) I'll post it here. How do you do pleats? I'm guessing that you measure the fabric at equal intervals then fold it a little and sow it in place, am I right? Is there a tutorial on this? I desperatly need help!! I'm looking for a tutorial with pictures! I already seen some on craftster, but they either don't explain it well or I'm to brunette (<--- tehehe) to understand them!! Thanks for taking the time to read and answer!

My mom is going to start teaching me how to knit, but it looks sooooo hard. I just wanted to ask how long did it take to remember all those terms and stuff and how long did it take before you started knitting like a pro.
19  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Cute Embroidery Patterns?? on: May 21, 2005 09:17:11 PM
Does anyone know where I can get cute embroidery patters? Huh I'm looking for something similar to those in Sublime Stitching, but free. I've tried pringting out stencils to see if that would work, but it wasn't what I was looking for. Any suggestions?

Here are some examples of my cheap embroidery:

(they are for a bag I'm making)

**it says: Pencil marks. I drew it in and then stiched it in. It's the only way that I can get what I want.
*lips are felt and then outlined with backstitch*

Circles and Squares are felt

Sorry for the AWFUL lighting. I was in hurry!

20  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / I made a stencil of my face! on: May 06, 2005 09:59:06 PM
I made a stencil of my face and I didn't know what to do with it. So after much thinkin' and sleepin', I decided to put it on a pillow, wallet, and purse. I'm planning to paint everything blue, but my lips (which will be pink!! (i love flamingo pink Tongue) and then put pink flat sequins all over my lips and then make a felt flower to put somewhere on my head.  Cheesy <----thats on the purse. After that, i plan to make some letters out of felt and stick it somewhere. Roll Eyes hmmmm, now where else should i put my face on....undies.....shirt.....jeans.... Wink
