I really like it! great fabric, but how exactly did you do the rouching? Did you stretch the elastic as you were sewing over it? straight stitch, zig-zag?Huh

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: clothing-scrap quilt on: February 10, 2007 02:12:18 PM
That is so cool!
Im going to make my boyfriend an Australian quilt for valentines day! its going to be a week or two late, I killed my sewing machine  I have to do it in secret while hes at work AND I have our 7 month old daughter to look after!
We met, travelling in australia and I know he misses it!
Mines nowhere NEAR as inventive as yours though! I just found some australian/aboriginal style fabrics.. I think im going to use the "around the world" pattern? just because it kind of goes with the theme!
I wish i'd have thought of that!!! Maybe.. one day..
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Warm and Quilty!!! on: February 09, 2007 12:09:05 PM
Thats such a cute idea! I was trying to make one of those the other day (in the shape of a hot water bottle!) but my sewing machine didn't want to co-operate so I gave up, I never thought of doing it in patchwork!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: i made a shirt!!!! that i would actually wear!!!! on: February 08, 2007 03:36:09 AM
Ooh! I really like that!
I was in two minds whether to buy that pattern actually, Probably because the one on the "wendy website" was plaid  Undecided and although fashionable at the moment, I would feel like a farmer or I was wearing pyjamas, or farmer in pyjamas!
But yours looks lovely, So I think im gonna have a go at it.. I just have to find someone who's selling it cheap, and to the uk!
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Clothing ideas for the hospital? on: January 08, 2007 06:33:26 AM
I bought a really nice nightie to wear in labour (I wanted to look "nice" in photos! Cheesy) did I wear it? NO!! once you're in the middle of it all you don't care one single bit! So thats my advise.. dont waste your money!
I'd wear a stretchy vest top so you can breast feed afterwards without being totally exposed. I wore a cotton shirt which pulled over the head and it made things so difficult for me! Undecided
You could make some Thai fishermans trousers! Theyre guarrenteed to fit you afterwards since they're wrap trousers, soooo comfy! Id make a few different pairs because they're nice to wear afterwards! they look pretty easy to make!
Heres a tutorial, (I havent tried it myself though) http://www.mediatinker.com/blog/archives/008262.html#008262

Good luck!
9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Fortune Cookie Disaster!!! on: June 26, 2005 05:14:36 PM
could you make brandy snaps? or something similar?
I know that you can roll them into shapes? and maybe close off the ends. Ive seen them made but never made them myself. You could make a wierd brandy snap version of a fortune cookie!
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: "Bitch in a box"??? on: June 26, 2005 05:03:26 PM
If it were me I would put POOP in the box!!!! grrr!!
Or make edible poop out of chocolate with a suitable message.    I would love to see someone digging in to a peice of poop though...   Shocked  mmm poopy truffles.
or is it me being a bit of a sicko?

I can't beleive my de-lurking post was about poop.
