2  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Anemoi Mittens anybody? on: March 11, 2007 07:33:52 AM
Thank you very much catTM! It helped a great deal Smiley I will try again, and this time I'll do the tubular cast-on first and then join.

I'm also doing the cast-on on bigger needles; it looked way too small on 2 mm.

I have just started and yet I am already stuck. How do I do the tubular cast on working with dpns? I have tried Annas tutorial, but my atempt looks really floppy where I join the row. Or is it done working flat and then joined?

If somebody could explain it to me I would be very grateful.

What a wonderful shawl! You have inspired me. What are the finished measurements for it?

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: hitchhiker's guide marvin the cuddly android - pattern included on: October 20, 2005 11:12:03 PM

What a fun pattern! I've never tried intarsia before, but I managed to make the head - it took me three times, but I learned something on the way :]

I have two questions regarding the body. I've started it but I just can't seem to figure out what to do. The pattern says that you should
"dec 1 at each end of next and every foll RS row
leaving a border of 2 white sts on each side, work a black intrasia triangle, keeping decs correct, until 9 sts rem
work 4 rows even"
Does that mean that I should start the intarsia triangle when I start the decreasing? Or should I first do some rows with decreasing and then start the triangle? And in that case how many? (It looks like my triangle starts too low on his belly, compare to ohmystars' Marvin.)

My second question is about the seaming of the body. "Seam sides" - the way where you join BO-row and CO-row and seam the sides (like an envelope), or the way where you join the sides and seam them (like a tube)?

Thank you for a really cuddly pattern!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Green circle skirt and tank top on: May 29, 2005 06:16:29 AM

That is one nice looking skirt! Just that shade of green I like. I've been thinking of making one of those circle skirts, and yours was the inspiration I needed to tackle it. Now I only have to find the time to make it :)

That must be one of the most beautiful bags I've ever seen! Great colour-choices. And your dress! I've been looking for a dress like that for ages, but the fashion just won't go that way :(
