I've just recently made these with polymer clay. I tell ya, I loved making them and I love how they turn out even more! The cupcakes measure to approximately 5/8" wide and tall.

3  cutesy clay stuff! :D in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by mei on: October 02, 2006 08:23:53 PM
I took a whole bunch of pictures of these things and I couldn't choose which ones to put here! Sorry there are too many for the dial-up users Sad

These are my first clay items! What do you think?
I know I'm being ambitious, but I plan to sell them in the future (not this batch) but I'll need more practise, of course!

4  I call it... the "Polka Dot Hip Hop" book! xD in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by mei on: April 05, 2006 05:17:30 AM
YAY! Okay I made this some time ago but I haven't showed anyone yet! Here it is, hope you like! I've made a few books with coptic stitch but those are with spines, so you can say this is my first coptic stitch "spinless" book!

Feedback would be nice!  Grin

5  confused on jap stab binding in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by mei on: March 14, 2006 06:27:48 PM
I have a bunch of japanese stab binding tutorials but that's not exactly what I was looking for. I've seen around here before books you guys make that don't have the thread running along the height of the book. For instance:

So I'm confused about how to get the result on the left of the picture. Like, do you just compromise from the japanese stab binding? Do you not sew in certain parts?

Anyway, ribbon binding looks beautiful. Anyone care to share a tutorial for ribbon binding?

I've written down my resolutions for this week (I've got hols! Cheesy) and making a book was one of them. And the week's almost over! I need to get kickin xD

Thanks a bunch in advance!

7  What's wrong with my journal? in Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions by mei on: December 03, 2005 08:34:54 AM
I've been lurking at craftster for like ages, but I never really posted Sad Anyway, I followed this tutorial -->http://personal.mem.bellsouth.net/d/r/drv1913/0204pg1.html and I've made a journal! The only thing is, something is wrong, and I really don't know what to do. The tutorials never seem to come across this problem, so I thought maybe I did something wrong in the process!

From this picture, the book can only open up to this much! I could force it some more but that would just tear the paper I glued to the covers.

Here are more pictures of the problem:

I asked my mom about it and she said I wasn't supposed to glue the spine to the side of the papers. But would that be able to hold?

I also have another problem: I used black satin-like fabric as the cover and I used a medium sized paintbrush to spread glue over the covers and laid the black cloth over it. It kinda looks awful! Should I use thicker cloth (it was kinda thin), not use glue at all on the covers but only on the inside or use less glue?

I would really appreciate it if anyone could help me out! I'm like an uber noob Sad
