1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Zig Zag Stitch isnt working properly on: March 18, 2012 02:17:37 PM

Ive been sewing all morning using a zig zag stitch on my Brother XR-7700 and now the stitch isnt working properly.
I have reset the tension, reset the machine, re-threaded it, and I am out of ideas of what to do. Ive taken a picture and used different thread colors to show the problem. The top thread is red and the bobbin thread on the bottom is black.
The top thread hardly zig zags at all and is just straight. If I pull on the top (red) thread, the whole thing comes undone.
What can I do?
Help please.

My wallet is holding up pretty nicely. The cards dont stick in it, I never made a duck tape wallet before and I only saw a site with a tutorial for a simple 4-card slot wallet, and I wanted more slots (6-8) so I figured out how to make 6 cards fit and Im pretty pleased with the way it came out. Its not big, its compact and hold my cards (yay!)

If you dont want to have a thumb flap or any finger flap at all, it is optional. You just dont need to follow that part of the directions. The thumb flap does not bother me.

What you're looking for are called "texting gloves". They're gloves that have a flap for just the thumb, but in some cases, the pointer finger too. I couldn't find any in stores so I had to search for a pattern and luckily, red heart had a free pattern online. I made some tweaks to it and crocheted myself two texting gloves. Id post a pic but I don't know how Tongue
This is a link to the pattern

In my opinion, some of the directions are wrong, but if you're an experienced crocheter, I'm sure you'll figure out how to make it work Smiley
9  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Buying yarn? on: November 14, 2011 04:25:04 PM
I just bought 6 skeins of yarn at michaels. Theres a sale on this week, I got the craftsmart value- 1.99 for a skein. Its medium worsted weight yarn. Red heart is on sale too for 2.49 but there isnt much of a difference besides colors. (they both give you the same amount of yarn [yrds])

I love the first scrappy scarf! Did you crochet 100 stiches? And after a few rows switch yarns?
