1  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Bast Bamboo roving? on: May 09, 2010 10:28:34 AM
This stuff feels like a cross between linen and bamboo, kinda silky and kinda tuff. I just got some of this out of curiosity. I am just beginning to venture into plant fibers. Just tried my first bamboo and also bought some cotton sliver. Just curious of anyone else has tried this fiber. I don't know what i will make out of it.
2  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Drum Carders opinions on people's favorites... on: May 05, 2010 05:17:10 PM
I am saving up (this is a huge investment!) for my first Drum Carder and am wondering what people have to say about the one they have etc. I'm looking for something that can take alot of use and handle a wide variety of fibers from both roving and fleece. I'm thinking of getting a Fancy Kitty Fine carder or a Strauch Petite.

I would love to hear people's experiences since there are people on the boards carding up beautiful batts  Grin
3  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Babe Wheel Delta Flyer vs. Plying flyer on: March 03, 2010 04:53:57 PM
I have a Babe Production wheel and am trying to decide wether i should go with a delta flyer or a plying flyer kit.  I want bobbins that are bigger but I also want to be able to spin fluffier yarn. Has anyone had success putting the Babe plying bobbins on the regular flyer/bobbin conversion?

4  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Vintage Beaded Bonnet my own version (my first post) on: November 24, 2009 06:03:32 PM
I found this free Vintage pattern online and have been wanting to try it.  After alot of doing and undoing (i'm bad with reading patterns) I finally finished it (read 3am crochet binge) and tried an experiment with beads which I have never used before.  This is my first post of my own stuff, let me know what you think.
