1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Re: 25 yard skirt on: August 09, 2016 08:39:46 PM
Thank you all for your lovely compliments.  Yes, it took forever to ruffle all 20-bagillion yards of fabric.  My ruffler foot was working overtime.  It isn't tafeta, but I'm not so sure what fiber content all the pieces are.  Honestly, I used an old curtain for the top, a sheet from a thrift store for another layer and pretty/shiny fabric from my local craft store for the other layers.  It is really, really fun to dance with.  I am the only lady with earth tones. The other ladies have greens and purples and pinks.  I might have to make another one...maybe a patchwork of all sorts of colors.
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / 25 yard skirt on: August 06, 2016 04:46:35 PM
So.  This took FOREVER, but it's SO worth it.  I finally made my 25 yard skirt. It was based on this tutorial.

I decided to to a drawstring waist with some bias trim from a child's skirt that was falling apart rather than using any elastic in the waist.  Also, I added some trim to the top panel, as somehow during this process I managed to get a big tear horizontally along the belly.  I wore this to my class yesterday, and the gals loved it! I hope you will, too.

3  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Industrial Pendant on: September 07, 2012 08:22:40 AM
Hello, all.  I wanted to show off a little thing I made today.  I found a random cog as I was sorting through some things and thought it would make an interesting pendant.  I wrapped it with some leftover VHS tape and came up with this.  Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for looking!

Decoupage them onto cork board and make coasters. It's a project that has been in the back of my head for a while.  Maybe I'll get around to it...eventually...

Make a windsock with one.  Remove the bottom, punch holes in the edge and string ribbon through.  Paint the can to match the ribbons!  Great, now I want to make one using the Gatoraid can I have leftover.

Take an x-acto knife and make templates!  For example:  http://familyfun.go.com/crafts/easter-egg-basket-with-printable-template-667605/  You can make neat little baskets.

What can I do with good coloring containers (the little teardrop ones)?

I used a ton of soda cans in different colors to make butterflies for my daughter's first birthday. I used double stick tape and put them all over the walls.  There was quite a flock.  Too bad all those pics got lost in The Great Computer Kablooey!

I'm kind of surprised that I didn't see this mentioned. You can use the keys to make nifty jewlery or magnets or napkin rings or whatnot. You can get inspiration for this over on Etsy.  I've seen quite a bit of good things with keyboard keys over there.

That's lovely.  I believe you've given me  my next piece of inspiration!

I'm in LOVE with the bamboo beach mats with the colored boarders.  I am thinking you could staple gun them up there in some sort of pattern.  It would bring in a natural element and some fun colors.
