Nope, this one is much farther south. Smiley  Our franchise is located off 94 between Detroit and Kalamazoo.

I love this!  This was one of my favorite books as a child. I just watched the movie recently and it made me cry!
5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Bob's Big Boy on: November 01, 2011 01:46:33 PM
My family owns a Big Boy restaurant in Michigan. I found a mask of our mascot on Ebay and bought it to play a prank on one of the servers. Then I figured "what the hell, why not make the whole costume" And so I did!

The overalls are made up of 4 inch red and white squares cut from $5 bedsheets I found at walmart. I had to sew the patchwork because they don't make a red and white checkered fabric print. I looked everywhere! I used extra red from the sheet to do the straps. I added blue buttons to the straps to finish off the overalls. I hand painted the blue bands and text onto a white T-shirt and finished it off with my purchased mask.

I worked at the restaurant on Halloween and of course I wore the costume! It was a hit!
6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Baby Shower Thank-You Cards on: November 01, 2011 01:46:05 PM
When I was putting together my sister's baby shower I struggled with making paper diapers for a game we were going to play. I finally gave up and bought some offbrand newborn ones at Wal-mart!  You seem to have succeeded at the paper ones though! Very very cute! I am bookmarking this in case I ever get wrangled into throwing another shower. Smiley

8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: WIP - hexagon kaleidascope quilt on: November 01, 2011 01:41:46 PM
I really love this. I'm getting ready to start a Gradmother's Flower Garden quilt which uses these hexagons. The paper piecing intimidates me but I'm going to conquer it because I want one so badly!

Your version of this looks amazing! Very inspiring. Smiley

10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Hubble Pillows on: November 01, 2011 01:38:32 PM
So awesome! I believe it was the Atlanta Aiport that has massive prints of the Hubble Images as you head towards baggage claim. Your pillows reminded me of that!
