1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Should I Start Again? on: June 30, 2017 12:28:01 AM
So...I got a new sewing machine today and decided to work on my first quilt in progress with it. However, I didn't realize a couple of things...

1. The default position on this machine is left...no center
2. There's a scant 1/4'' and regular 1/4 seam markings on the throat plate...I used the wrong one

Now my strip blocks are a bit two small...I'm doing the Jelly Roll Jam Quilt from the Fat Quarter Shop...but I cut my strips from fat quarters and yardage. It's a blanket for a new mom...so guys should i start all over from scratch? I think I was just so excited to open the box and get started I didn't even bother to read the manual. I'm 50% finished with piecing my blocks together.

3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Brother model# 1044281....manual!! on: December 30, 2008 04:29:49 PM
So just about 30 min I was at my local goodwill and found a brother sewing machine model# 1044281 with no foot pedal, manual, or bobbin case for $7.99 I know that I it sucks that the machine was missing all of that, but for that price I couldn't pass it up! It was in great cosmetic condition, its white with red (pretty)...any one by any chance have a manual for this machine??? Where can i find one? I have searched all over the net and no luck! thanks in advance!!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / I want to make this skirt with pleats and a highwaist!!! on: January 30, 2008 10:04:23 AM
Well I was browsing the craftster.org forum completed projects board and came across this skirt https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=169956.0  and thought to myself how sexy would I look in this so I proceeded to investigate how to go about with its construction. Then while browsing the simplicity website I found a pattern for a pencil skirt 5259 and thought that would be great to alter if i could just figure out how to customize this pattern to include the pleats and high waist band....Someone told me that I should try grading and another person suggested slashing and spreading, i'm not sure what to do or how...HELP

Well, a blogger came up with this tutorial for a paper bag waist skirt, the only problem is that it's in swedish and I speak english is there someone out there that speaks the language and would be willing to translate it for me. The skirt is lovely, a girl on another site offered to translate the tutorial for someone else, but when i asked if she would do the same for me she ignored me.
