1  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / "Lace Pattern Top", Swedish Translation on: November 19, 2006 04:18:28 PM
Hey everybody, It's been awhile since I've posted a FO, and I've been working on this one for awhile... finally tackled the crochet straps and found the right ribbon for the trimming!  Thank you so much smulan, for sending me the pattern from Stockholm! I owe you big time!

Here's the Pattern Pic:

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Help! with Urban Rustic on: November 10, 2006 05:31:00 PM
Hi, I have tried to make Knitty's Urban Rustic once, and failed miserably... I have seen questions here about the crochet cast on- I didn't have any trouble on that one, but I found that as I kept knitting the gloves, the first finger I knit connected akwardly to the rest of the fingers...
I'm not sure how else to explain, except to say that I finished 75% of one glove, only to find that it twisted in a strange spiral- like fashion, and confused the daylights out of me  Tongue
If anyone has some insight into what I did wrong, please let me know!
Thanks Wink
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Finished Bella Paquita on: May 12, 2006 07:43:22 AM
I finally finished Bella Paquita, but have been too busy in Paris to post until now...

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Translating patterns? From Swedish? UPDATE: mission complete! on: April 24, 2006 03:47:31 AM
Hey guys, I was just wondering if someone might have an idea of how i could translate this pattern from garnstudio:

I already bought the yarn for it in Stockholm... the only problem is that I can only read english and french.
I really hope i can figure this out, because it looks like this company has lots of nice patterns that i'd like to try Cheesy
Thanks for your help!

Just a little Update:  I successfully finished this tank top!  Check it out here:
5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Desperate to finish Pia! on: December 27, 2005 09:31:37 AM
Pia (Rowan 35) was the first sweater I attempted (ok, tank top Wink) I am now wanting to knit a cross between knitty's Arisaig and SnB Lucky, but first I want to finish the Pia tank.  I am about 85% finished with this project, but I got stuck on the second side of the front decreases and also the last bit of the back decreases.  Does anyone have any ideas or advice for how I can finish it?

I have asked employees at two different knitting shops and I'm still stuck... I have also tried multiple times to complete the front decreases, and I only end up frustrating myself.

Any Ideas??? Thanks inadvance guys! Smiley
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Organza Party Dress on: November 06, 2005 03:24:00 PM

I had a wedding to go to, and I wanted a classic, yet colorful dress.  Every RTW dress I liked was over $150...so i spend a little under $40 at joann fabrics and made this!  I Used Vogue 8158, one of their new skirt patterns for fall, and then with a little help from Burda, I drafted the bodice.

And here's the little jacket i wore with the dress!

for more about the jacket, look here:  https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=61912.0
7  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / $430 jacket for just $40 on: November 06, 2005 03:11:23 PM
I know, not exactly cheap, but I used 100% wool, and had to buy enough to play around with, plus lining, hair canvas (interfacing), and the nifty leather button.
...inspired by a bolero style jacket in September's edition of Lucky magazine

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Closet Cleaning...please help!!! on: July 09, 2005 04:36:33 PM
This summer I am trying to clean out my stash of yarns, and just wondered if anyone might like to take some of it of my hands...   I contemplated giving it all away, but i'd much rather give to people who can really use it Wink

so here are the pics...

this one is a nice wool blend boucle that i carefully frogged a goodwill sweater for, so there is plenty of it!

Here are some old acrylics in tan, turquoise and red, along with some purple red heart soft

Odds and ends of acrylics and most of a skein of turquoise lamb's pride worsted

Finally, LOTS of acrylic in christmas colors!

OK, so there it is...if anyone has other ideas for where to donate yarn, i'd be so happy just to get rid of it...  Thanks!
9  Ohio / Ohio: Southwest / Consigning in Dayton? on: June 05, 2005 10:02:36 PM
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows of any places to consign crafty good in or around Dayton??  Thanks Grin
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Lilac Purse-comments, please! on: May 15, 2005 07:09:28 PM
OK, so I might be avoiding homework, but I just had to make it...
  I call her Lilac.

I was inspired by a Vogue pattern for evening bags, but I designed the pattern myself.  The outside is a lavender knit with a pale aqua lace overlay.  The lining is a cutesy aqua print from Joann.
Please let me know what you think, as I am very tempted to make more, but would like some opinions/comments/suggestions first! Wink
