1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Ongoing Hoopla Round 4 - Gallery/Discussion on: March 05, 2012 06:06:40 PM
One person I picked seems to have gone MIA and I was going to post pictures for her anyway so I'm going to go ahead and do that as I'm sure she would have received by now.  I picked to make her an inspirational quote so I came up with this hoop:

and a close up so you can see the wording better:

A very delayed "Thanks so much for this swap!" & Thanks for posting the pictures for me. Sorry about all the confusion. this is hanging in my living room right by my front door. Smiley
2  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Re: Spring! Finding craft materials in nature on: February 04, 2012 09:16:19 PM
(which is -hopefully- coming soon to the Northern Hemisphere).
Amen to that!

I believe there has already been a similar craft challenge but I wouldn't mind if there was another! Spring is wonderful when it finally happens (especially to those of us who have extreme seasons!)
3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Re: Zombie Head Pin Cushion! (First Post) on: February 02, 2012 07:27:20 PM
Thanks! I was thinking of starting a line with similar ideas for pin cushions. It turned out much better then I was hoping so I am almost hesitant to try again!  Roll Eyes Haha!

A good example would be a children's book I used to have when I was younger. It was called "Windows" I can't find any pictures of it but it was set up like this:

The pinwheel type mechanism would have one image layered under another. When you pulled the hoop it would slide the triangles of image (a) under image (b), then back when you pulled it again.

But this idea could be portrayed in a number of different ways as well. As an open-ended idea it allows this to be interpreted in a multitude of ways. I think it would be interesting to see the turn out.

I really, really, REALLY like the style of this. Very nice flow!
6  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing Hoopla Round 4 - Claims through Feb. 4! on: January 29, 2012 11:02:58 AM
I claim fancybutch for "Pinterest Inspired (Robots!)"!
^ Oh... how excited I am!

My name is Erica and this is my first ever swap and I am very excited! My style of stitch is slightly experimental, mostly erratic!

I've lived in Ohio my whole live and though I would rather live somewhere tropical and warm I am slowly learning to love it here (possibly the extreme lack of winter weather this year is making me change my mind!). UPDATE: I thought someone would enjoy hearing that litterally 10 minutes after posting this....snow storm. Go figure. Haha.

I've been with the love of my life for just over 3 years and living on our own for a year now. I'm really interested in using the hoops I receive to further decorate our home. We have an extra craft/music/art/sewing room that I plan on COVERING with artwork, posters, and HOOPS!

I do not have a camera at the moment and sorry for this inconvenience. Whoever claims me will have to take a photo of the hoop for me prior to the swap. Just PM me and I will send you my e-mail address to which you can send the photos. I'd be more then glad to wait to see them until AFTER receiving the hoop so it's a nice surprise!

7  CRAFTSTER CRAFT CHALLENGES / Craftster Craft Challenge Theme Ideas, Etc. / Re: Then and Now: Transformations! on: January 28, 2012 11:02:11 PM
As an added note, this could also include a "Now and Later" (Not the candy!) type inspired by goals and future anticipations.
(Or possibly as an entirely different contest!)

Photo Src: http://education.nacse.org/Curriculum/life_butterfly.html

A contest using virtually any form of media to represent a certain event, person, memory, etc, along with a summary explaining said media, that corresponds to a type of transformation  (i.e a caterpillar into a butterfly, before and after weight loss((or gain!)), before and after children, etc)

The entries should be judged by:
& Over-All Awesomeness!

This would be a great opportunity to create something very meaningful and sentimental while also helping to bring our community closer together.
