hi all,

i recently had some images of mine turn up on this photo bookmarking website called fffound which looks kind of interesting. but it's still in beta and you need an invite to sign up.

if you happen to have an invite kicking around, i will send you a snail mail special surprise in exchange (just to keep things crafty).

feel free to message me if this appeals to you.
2  CANADA / Ontario / Craft Toronto photo pool on Flickr on: January 05, 2008 08:57:32 PM
Hey Toronto!

In an effort to create some wide open places for Toronto crafters to intermingle, we City of Craft folks have launched the Craft Toronto Photo Pool on Flickr.

Feel free to post any and all of your crafty creations there (but no promotional materials, please.) There are also discussion features, so dive in!

The group can be found here:

And don't worry, you don't need a pro account to contribute. And crafters from the entire environs of Toronto are welcome to join and contribute. Images from this pool may also be pulled for  profiling on the Toronto Craft Alert.
3  CANADA / Ontario / CraftChat T.O. - May 27, 2007 on: May 08, 2007 11:25:20 AM
To all Toronto Makers & Craft enthusiasts:

You are invited to *CraftChat T.O.*, an informal gathering of people interested in talking about the state of craft, design and DIY culture in Toronto & beyond.  Consider this to be a stitch n bitch of the mind (?) though feel free to bring stuff to keep your hands busy, of course.

This call to gather was inspired by a recent trip by Becky (Good Catch Craft Fairs, The Sweetie Pie Press), Jen (Toronto Craft Alert) & Leah (Church of Craft, Coldsnap Bindery) to Pittsburgh for Craft Congress 2007, a meeting of crafty minds from North America & Britain (read more about it here). One really interesting thing that came up was how the craft scene/community/culture differs so much from place to place, in terms of people's motivations for participating, how it is perceived by the larger
community, and on many other levels.  Which begs the question, what's up with craft in T.O.????  What are we doing here? Why are we doing it? Are we doing it differently than others? Could we be doing it better? Could we be having more fun? And who is this 'we', anyhow?

Also, we will have materials on hand from the Craft Congress & will be happy to answer any questions about that gathering as well.

If you'd like to participate in CraftChat T.O. (or come hang out & eavesdrop), taking place on *Sunday May 27th at 2pm*, please *RSVP* to [email protected] *by May 18th*. Once we've got an idea of how many people want to attend, we'll announce the venue.

Looking forward to this,

Becky, Leah & Jen
4  CANADA / Ontario / Toronto Church of Craft on: May 08, 2007 11:06:27 AM
hi all,

i have encountered some mild confusion on these boards about the church of craft in toronto. this is understandable since leah has not been able to update the webspage since 2004.

but guess what? that has all changed! i've managed to get in there and make some updates. more will come steadily but for now, there is info up for next month.

you can also sign up for the mailing list here to be kept alerted to craft-ons and other such happenings:

5  CANADA / Ontario / [toronto] applications finally exist for the good catch craft fairs! on: April 28, 2007 02:34:49 PM
hi all,

i finally had a second to breathe and made a few updates around good catch craft fair land.

in response to all the posts and emails i have recieved about vending, i made this in hopes of explaining a little more about what we do and also to help work in new vendors:

the little craft fairs website is very fresh (and i've thrown the march poster up as a place holder) so please bear with me as i get everything in order.

i just wanted to get the word out about vendor submissions as quickly as possible.

happy crafting,

the sweetie pie press
6  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / a question about essential oil spray on: March 28, 2007 05:57:20 PM
hi there folks,

i am thinking of making some linen spray for myself and have found two types of recipes online - ones with essential oil and water and ones with essential oil, water and alcohol (vodka, usually).

and thoughts on using alcohol or not?

i couldn't really figure out the difference except that the alcohol might help break the oil down and hold it in the water.

any information would be greatly appreciated.

with warm regard,

7  CANADA / Ontario / new toronto review site on: February 05, 2007 12:17:45 PM
hi all,

i just came across this review site being tested in toronto:

it seems like a good place to review things like craft supply shops and, well, anything.

just thought i'd pass it along,

8  CANADA / Ontario / anyone need 1" button parts in toronto? on: January 10, 2007 01:53:22 PM
hi world,

i'm moving february 1st and have a heap of 1" pinback button supplies that i could stand to cut down a bit before relocating.

i have boxes of 500 and 1000 but could potentially break them up into smaller lots.

so if you have a 1" machine and need a few extra parts, just let me know.

i'll sell them off at my cost.

all the best,

10  CANADA / Ontario / 1" button parts for offer in toronto on: May 12, 2006 05:48:12 PM
hi all,

as these are items i am offering for sale, this might not be the right place for it, so appologies if i have done something wrong. but if anyone takes me up on this offer, i would rather it be someone in toronto so that shipping is not involved.

i have just reordered a huge batch of button parts and, in going through the parts i already had, i found some sets of smaller amounts packaged into smaller numbers (100, 250, 500, 1000, 2500) and figured i may as well pass my bulk savings on to craftster people before emptying out all these neatly packaged little sets into my dresser (yes, a whole dresser) of button parts.

call it spring cleaning.

if it seems like something you might be interested in, drop me and email at [email protected] and i can quote you the wholesale price i got on them (it will be at par to what i paid including tax and shipping, if applicable).

sweetie pie out.
