Details of swap: If you're anything like me, you have a little stash of Altoid tins just aching to be decorated (OK, I admit it, my stash is HUGE), plus a few drawers or envelopes full of fun ephemera that would be perfect for the job! You would also appreciate some new ephemera in exchange for some of what you already have.

For this swap, you will decorate an Altoid tin inside and out, and then stuff it full of fun ephemera. Think tickets, pretty stamps, parts of foreign text...anything you can get in there. If your partner indicates an interest, you may also include fun brads and/or metal accessories. You may only send what fits inside the tin, so this will be a fun, easy swap. Please send nice things that you would be happy to receive!

The tins will make a padded envelope thick enough for a dc number, so if you're sending within the States, dc's will be required. Some people have asked about using tins that are similar in size to Altoid tins. That is perfectly fine, as long as the size is close. I'm not having anyone specify a theme for the decoration of the tin, but if you wish, feel free to talk to your partner and see if they have a theme in mind. Otherwise, just make it pretty with what you have.  Smiley

One more thing: please post in this thread if you are going to participate!!

Here was our original conversation about this swap: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=229927.0

Should we consider starting this bad boy up? How about a week of signups and then two weeks for crafting? Does that work for everyone?

Racky, where did you get the necklace bit? The two birds on a branch?  Do you have a close up of that?

That came from Michaels! I was looking around for stuff with my girls and just came on it. I thought it was so cute. I added the chain and the little "egg".

That's a way better picture! I'm glad you were able to get a good one.

I'll have to think of something really special to do with that embroidery. It rocks!

I'm the lucky first recipient! Look at all the awesome bird things batgirl sent me!

First, some of the so called "small" items: a bird foot stamp (I know I'll get a lot of use out of that!), and little bird earrings, both wrapped in really cute matchboxes, a bird pendant in my favorite color, and the coolest beaded bookmark known to man. I hope you can tell that the second bead down is a little bird.  Smiley

Then, this awesome bird box (with a felted bird! so cool!), of which I cannot get a good picture. I'm hoping batty has one she can share. The glass just wants to glare so!

And last, but certainly not least by any means, this lovely, lovely embroidered handkerchief. I may have to frame and hang this bad boy. It's gor-geee-ous!

Thank you so much, batty, for the wonderful and thoughtful package. It was so much fun to swap with you!!!  Kiss

True, but you would be getting rid of some while getting new. So that's ok. Really.
