While I might voice my opinions much more strongly in other forums, I just feel that Craftster is a place of happiness and positive vibes. I have found over the years that we all have a lot more in common than not...respect and kindness only takes a few minutes...bunny, you know that I value our friendship (and,  I think that will be more lasting than other things  Wink. )

Love it! I totally agree- good vibes only on C-ster! You totally lead by example. It's so great!

Those dotees are amazing! I especially like Paul! And the Maasai lady. And the sea goddess. Hmmm... I guess that's all of them.

AIMR- can I just say thank you for being so gracious? You already know that you and I have different political views even though our philosophies intersect in many other ways. I love the way you handled that, it was very kind to allow those who want to take a minute to look at that project to do so, and those who might not feel the same way as you do, are at least given advance warning. An invitation is always the better route, I do believe that, even if I don't always follow that belief the way I should.

Your cool factor went up about 200% in my world just now. (And it was already pretty high, so there ya go.  Wink)

Oh, Lindy, trust me- these bags are the easiest things to make in the history of ever. Ok, maybe a pillow would be easier. But I can't think of much else. I have no doubt that you could do them!  Kiss

So many people are stepping up to help- I'm going to have enough supplies donated to the cause, to be able to keep them in zipper pouches for a few years!  Grin  Maybe one of these weekends we can get together and sew up a storm of epic proportions!  Wink

T- Believe me, we are having a blast doing this work. I'll be forever grateful to GISHWHES for lighting the fire under my fanny to help them out!

how 'bout telling us what you need and how we can help?  I'm moving soon, and have a ton of sewing supplies to disburse.

Oh my goodness you are awesome! We are sewing pouches with pieces of fabric measuring 8x11 inches. If you've got fabric at least that size, or zippers that you'd like to send our way, that would be so cool!  Thread might be a blessing also, if you have some you'd like to get rid of!

THANK YOU!!

You guys are AMAZING! Yep, totally, totally the bomb! (Do people still say "the bomb"? Too bad, I guess, coz I just said it!)

My DIL Chr1stChan and I are working with the TLC women's shelter here in our hometown. And when my fellow Craftsters heard that we could use a little help, they started coming through in spades!  Check this out SO FAR (I know that more pouches have been made and are on their way, so you'll see additions to this post in the future):

So here are the thankyou's so far:

To my bestie Gozer, who sent 35 zippers - In spite of some major health challenges, you stepped up to the plate and thought of others, when it would be so much easier to just focus on what you've got to deal with at the moment. You're truly the best and I love ya!

To Noxica, who sent 23 zippers and zipper tape with 12 pulls - shipping from Australia?!?!? Holy moly, that's commitment and you ROCK!

To TheMistressT, who sent 14 zippers - you've been evacuated and dealing with wildfires and firefighters all summer, but STILL took the time to help! HUGE hugs to you!

To Lovely Miss, who sent 16 completed pouches - with every other plate you keep spinning both on Craftster and elsewhere, I'm so thrilled that you would take the time to help out! You are awesome!

To AlwaysInMyRoom, who sent 10 completed pouches - you're another lady who always drops everything to help souls in need! You have one of the biggest hearts on C-ster! Thank you!

Our goal was 65 pouches for the ladies in the shelter. So far we have 34 completed pouches and enough zippers to make 84 MORE!

THERE IS STILL GOOD IN THE WORLD and Craftster members make up a big ol' slice of it!

Thank you, my friends! It was very stressful indeed, but we couldn't have had a better outcome, so we are very grateful.

Hoping for some time today to finish a couple of projects. Life has been incredibly stressful and insane of late. We had a family member disappear for about 18 hours yesterday, including being gone all night. All's well now, but it was the most emotionally draining and stressful experience of my life. Needless to say, I feel like I could sleep for a few days now.  Shocked
