i'm so glad to hear that!  please, if you'd like to sell or trade with me, let me know and we'll work something out.  i think these are so original and just plain cool.  (and did i see that you did one of your lovely self too?  sexay!  Shocked)

contrary to what you may think, sugaree is not to describe my sweet disposition (which it, of course, is - my disposition i mean).  but rather, it's the name of one of my favorite grateful dead songs and it's not pronounced sugary; the accent's on the ree (and not the sug).  later on in life when i get a house and can have a dog, i think i may name her sugar magnolias after another great dead song and i'll call her maggie for short Smiley
1164  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / latch hook help on: January 15, 2004 01:05:04 AM
hey all....i first want to say hi to everyone because i'm new here...so, uh, hello  Cheesy  this site is really fun - i don't want to say i've been lurking here for a while, cos i don't like the way that sounds...so let's just say, well....yeah, i guess i've been lurking - i suppose it's just the best way to describe it.   Smiley

anyhow, i didn't start this thread to say hi and then make an ass out of myself (please someone tell me i haven't done that so far Smiley).  i have a question.  not really sure it belongs in this section, but i didn't know where else to put it.  i'd like to make a latch hook kit for my sister for her birthday.  but i don't want to buy one because neither of us are really into any of the cutesy designs that are currently sold (she wouldn't want to make it and i couldn't look her in the face while handing it to her).  so i decided to make a design myself and then cut up some yarn and put it in a nice box and throw in a latch hook tool and let her have a field day with it.  i already bought the tool, some yarn, and some blank canvas.  my problem is that i don't know how to go about making the design myself.  i'd like to put the word 'sublime' in old english (cos we're crazy about the group), but i'm not sure how to do it.  i tried to draw the letters freehand on a piece of paper first to see how it would come out, but it didn't look very good.  any of you have any helpful suggestions?
and does anyone know how long i should cut the yarn?
thanks so much for any help and it's nice to meet all of you Smiley

p.s. - so sorry this is so long.
