1  Re: Craft My Wists Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by sugaree on: May 04, 2011 06:36:11 PM
my partner, crescentfresh, received but her camera poo'd out on her, so here are some photos of what i sent her.

some seed tape to plant in the garden

(unrolled a bit)

i was inspired by a cowl on her wist to knit this cabled neckwarmer

and this hat is straight off her wist

since she has a fondness for mushrooms and wall art, i thought i'd combine the two Smiley

i'm so glad that you like everything, crescentfresh!  it was totally fun swapping with you!!

there is sun this morning and i was able to get some pretty photos of the fabulous loot crescentfresh sent to me!

first out of the box was this little guy made from the prettiest fabric scraps

(he's already made himself at home in one of my plants)

then i found this amazingly detailed and informative mini-book about herbs and stopped to read the entire thing.

check out some of the killer illustrations

next i found these beautiful paintings in the most perfect colors.  they were even wrapped in a piece of pretty turquoise fabric that i've already got some ideas for...

then i found this necklace, made by another crafter but totally my taste, just the same Smiley

and finally, a wonderful mixed media bracelet - it's got pretty turquoise, white, & brown beads, some fabric, and (what i assume are leftover scraps of) leather.  it wraps around my wrist twice.  when i tried it on the first time, it didn't seem to fit, but the second time it fit perfectly!  huzzah for tiny wrists!

(it was a bit difficult to take pictures of my wrist but you get the idea of how it looks)

i love everything so much!  thank you crescentfresh!!!

i received an absolutely wonderful and exceedingly thoughtful package over the weekend.
please grab a comfy seat and a mug of coffee, and delight in these photos with me.  there will be alot.  fair warning.   Wink

i was seriously spoiled!!  my stalker even picked up some goodies for me on her vacation to England.  how lucky am i?

the first thing i opened was this lovely cigar box, featuring romeo y julieta.  love it!

and inside is a world of lovely whimsies & ephemera

(pretty papers with lots of birds, nature, & patterns, old postcards - one even has writing on it!, panda magnets, panda tissues, a mini jar full of delicate shells & a completely rusted bottle cap that i adore, tons of foreign stamps, train tickets, russian nesting dolls, and packets of seeds)

gratuitous photo of the nesting dolls because they're so gorgeous - the smallest one is super tiny.  my favorite!

and there were also some handmade things in the box too!

some almost-too-pretty-to-use plant markers

and some perfect amelie magnets

next i found these wonderful planting pots (that are too darn pretty to fill with dirt - i'm going to turn them into hanging lanterns for the backyard instead)  Smiley

what's in these beautifully wrapped packages you ask?

gorgeous jewelry!

a very pretty bracelet

a beautiful robin's egg necklace with pretty whimsies trapped inside

some much loved and appreciated extras:

my favorite (vegetarian) roasted chicken chips from the UK (!!!)
some gorgeous and soft yarn from the UK (!!!)
and a belt that is completely and absolutely just my style.

and who could have sent me such a delightful, whimsical, lovely package??

the remarkable, thoughtful, & talented JacquelineD!!!

thank you so much!!  i love everything!!

i just received a kick-arse package from i sew cute!!  it completely embodies the movie without being literal, which i loooove.

stay tuned for pictures!

i sew cute was mostly inspired by the colors of the movie.
so she made this great scarf, which she said reminds her of moss.  me too!  i love that!
(sorry for the garish lighting in the photo - it was cloudy when i took the pics and had to use the flash)

june, if you have better pictures, please post them!

these earrings are great.  raspberries! (notice the little hearts at the bottom Grin )  and the other ones are so cool...very bohemian.  totally my style.

she also made this charm bracelet - i'll include a few pics so you can see all of the charms that all tie into the movie

(there's a tv, amelie's "instamatic", a pot of flowers, the eiffel tower, a bicycle, lots of fleur de lis, and tons of pretty little birds)

also, she included some of the most delicious lip balm i've ever had!!  she made it herself using natural ingredients, sweetened it with stevia, and tinted it with a really flattering sheer reddish pink color.  i don't usually wear color on my lips, but this looks so pretty and tastes absolutely amazing!  sorry it's not pictured; it's already found it's home in my purse.
