1  Re: Little Visitor Swap Round 18 - GALLERY! in The Swap Gallery by mini_mum on: December 25, 2013 03:39:36 PM
urgh! December has been so busy and not helped with lots illness around - all four of us being ill at one time or another. Fingers crossed we are on the mend now.

We were visited by a couple of Christmas SAS team elves for the first time this year (Santa's Annual Surveillance team) and Rastabug managed to get in on the action a couple of times, but also managed to stay out of the mischief so he didn't get reported to Santa Smiley

The first night Noel arrived they did some colouring:

After Ivy arrived a few days later, they sat, with some new friends, and watched TV all night!!

Today he decided to keep out of the way by sitting in the tree - a very sensible decision given how excited the boys got Smiley

Yesterday Rastabug had fun with the boys yesterday:

Micro Machine fun

Watching DS2 doing puzzles

DS1 rocking and singing to Rastabug before tucking him up for a nap Smiley SO cute!

We did go to the fireworks today, but after a bit of a stressful afternoon (thought we were headed to A&E with DS2, luckily went to GP first and got sorted out there) forgot to take Rastabug with us, but he stayed at home to look after the cats instead Smiley

made a baby blanket for DS1's teacher - she's due any day now, so colours were easy to pick, if a little unconventional! Luckily she loved them Smiley

(hadn't blocked it here)

Really proud of myself - set a goal and completed! Been struggling with life and especially crafting for several months, so this was a real confidence boost Smiley

4  Granny baby blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by mini_mum on: October 28, 2013 02:05:00 PM
My son's teacher is pregnant and due any day now. I get on really with her and wanted to make something for the baby.
Blanket was the obvious choice, but didn't want to go pastels (they just get dirty so quickly) and as she wasn't finding out the gender was difficult to pick a colour scheme, until I found out the due date Smiley
These colours are perfect for Halloween, but was a bit worried because they are so outside the 'normal' baby colours!
Thankfully she loved the blanket Cheesy

Really proud I actually finished it, so showing off!

finally got Ziggy to sit still long enough to take a picture

He's so excited to be going to the other end (sort of) and side of the country to Bristol Smiley He'll be winging his way tomorrow.

Also found this picture from a few days ago:

Thought Renstar might like to see a few of the new friends Rastabug will be meeting soon Smiley (Left to right: Flopsy, Socks and Thumper)

got really badly triggered the other night. Took hours for me to calm down and go to bed (happened about bedtime - as these things do Roll Eyes - and was 3am before I got upstairs) but in the meantime this was produced:

The background was produced by writing - I think in the end there were 3 layers of writing in different directions, followed by acrylic paint then the collage and doodling, before finally journalling.

(can I enter this in the 'non-fabric' part of March challenge?)

love the socks and the cupcake cross stitch.
I have sock yarn, and really must at least have a go!

I have managed to escape from half-term at home children and chicken pox spotty baby and did a willow weaving session at the local library and created these:

Bit hard to tell - but they are about 30" high.

Thats about it for ME recently Sad

Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes 19 pages behind! I must have slept - but I don't remember  Grin

I can't remember who posted what but these stood out for me:

raindrop paintings - they are sensational!
quilted place mats - just lovely.
3d art with butterfly - love that - will have to go back and find the link to the process Smiley
matching outfits for girlies - love that they match but are different
one colour blanket - love the texture
needle felted element set - love the detail

Finally managed to get a picture of the jumper I knitted for DS1:

over half-term holidays there were craft sessions - I went to one on willow weaving and made these:

and took DS1 to a 2 day course and we made these:

origami boat, pom-pom cat and owl with features from felt that we had also made Smiley It took forever!

we also made a lovely note book with jar marble painted covers, but that has disappeared  Roll Eyes

had fun at my felt class yesterday and made these:

The first one started out as a rectangle of fabric which I then felted small pieces of wool too. I didn't realise (or even think about the effect of) putting the wool diagonally would distort the fabric, but love the way it has come out Smiley

The second one was a straight forward flat piece of hand felt made with maroon, lime and teal coloured wool, which was folded then steamed in the microwave to set the folds.

(Dragon survived the firing process and is all ready to be glazed next week)
