11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Disney Swap Round 12 Gallery on: September 19, 2014 11:24:17 AM
I received a wonderful angel package from gotgrey today! Here's everything together!

I received a lovely Rapunzel doll! She's got her short hair from the end of the movie because I absolutely love the way Rapunzel looks with short hair, and her face was hand-drawn with colored pencils, which gotgrey said was a first for her! It turned out great!

There were three hand-drawn "Gravity Falls" pictures based on pictures I'd shared on pinterest. I can't wait to add them to my art wall (they're currently flattening under a book since they were rolled up for safe travels)!

A Wreck-It Ralph hoopla:

And a lovely decorated trinket box inspired by Frozen! It's lovely and sparkly with snowflakes on the top, and says "That's no blizzard, that's my sister!" around the sides! The inside is even sparkly and pretty!

There was also a surprise for me inside the trinket box. I was was warned the box might be a little difficult to get open, and that did prove to be the case, but a little bit of help from a nail file wedged into the gap got it open! (It also scraped a little bit of the paint off on the edge where I had worked with it, but oh well.) Inside was a Disney travel lanyard and a Disneyland pin!

Thank you so much for taking the time to put together such a lovely angel package for me! I really appreciate it!!

Well, we haven't heard from my partner in a while but the tracking shows my package should have been delivered a while ago, so whitterp told me I could go ahead and share what I'd crafted.

My medium was a Merida silhouette hoopla with a quote from Brave:

My large was a set of hat and slippers inspired by the Disney Fairies franchise. I made a hat meant to look like a flower (which I will probably be making again for myself, because it turned out great!):

And the slippers are based on Tinkerbell's shoes:

I also threw in some Disney stickers, but those were a last-minute addition and I didn't get pictures of them since they weren't a crafty item.

Holy snot, the marbled inner covers and the Fantasia hoopla are AMAZING!

*Insert squeals of joy here* OH MY GOODNESS! Thank you all so much! I'm so glad everyone likes my blanket that much!
15  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Disney Swap Round 12 (SIGNUP 7/11/14-7/25/14 ; MAIL BY 8/29/14) on: August 29, 2014 02:10:43 PM
Are there any other Disney Jr mamas (or dads) here?

Confession: I'm a 21-year-old, single college student with no young children in my family and I watch Sofia the First and Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Sure, they're a bit corny but they're also pretty cute! And I love the animation on Jake and the Neverland Pirates!
16  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Another Monster High Swap? on: August 28, 2014 09:02:12 AM
I've never gotten into Monster High, but I LOVE Ever After High, so if we end up including both, count me in!

ETA: I've never organized a swap before; I'd be willing to do it if nobody else steps up to do so but if someone more experienced than me wants to moderate that's totally cool too.

My package is all bundled up and ready to be dropped off at the mail room this afternoon!

Maleficent has always creeped me out! Part of it was because I read the first Kingdom Keepers book and she was a terrifying villain in that!

Just moved into my dorm for college this past week, so I didn't get that much done craft-wise, but I'll be hitting it hard this week!
20  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / "Yarnoween" Crocheted Costume- Zelda on: August 16, 2014 07:46:43 PM
So for the past two years, I've crocheted my entire Halloween costumes. I finally got pictures from my second (2013) costume, so I thought I'd share!

I was Zelda from "The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword" this past year. All of the costume is crocheted, save for the following non-yarn elements: tights, shoe soles, bag lining (my blue Hylian Crest banner on my belt is actually a bag), bracelet cores (bracelets not pictured because I'm a doof and forgot them on photoshoot day), and hair ribbons.

I had a lot of fun making and wearing this costume! I do intend to crochet my costume for this year as well, and will be starting on that one shortly, so stay tuned for pictures of it, but in the meantime, here's some more shots of last year's:
