1  She Bends Over to Conquer -- painted bookmark, retro movie poster style! in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by pulabean on: November 21, 2011 08:30:20 AM
My roommate hosted a murder mystery dinner recently (http://www.amazon.com/How-Host-Murder-Watersdown-Affair/dp/B00000IVSV).  People felt a little awkward at first, naturally, but it was a lot of fun, and the food was FANTASTIC, so I'd say it was pretty darn successful.

The girl who played this character did such a splendid job breaking out as the actress with questionable morals, we were wowed.  Her birthday happened to be a week later, so I decided to make a commemorative bookmark for her.  Acrylic on tagboard (salvaged tights packaging).  <3!

I really advise you to check out the murder mystery dinners.  They're not hard to implement and, for those who don't feel like making up characters and clues and such for their own story, this one was an easy method to an excuse to dress up in 30s garb and speak in a British accent!

2  Dragon Warrior Slime soap dispenser and Ares fan in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by pulabean on: November 17, 2011 07:58:03 PM
Some things in life are boring, like clear plastic soap dispensers and gray and white tower fans with no paintings of hot guys on them.  I try to remedy what I can.

It's a Slime!  From Dragon Warrior!  I Goo Gone'd the label off the cheap soap dispenser and painted this guy on it.  Acrylics and a little bit of snow craft paint for the textured dirt.. and, er, plants.

I was inspired by the brand name of the fan.  Who wouldn't be up for a hot god to cool you down?

Yes, I realize that I painted "Ares" and not "Aries".  I guess I just didn't feel like painting goatfish fanart.  SPEAR!!  The fanart is also acrylics.
