Wow handsewing takes forever, I was so happy when I got my sewing machine. I'm to impatient now to do hand sewing.
Here's where the teddy for my nephew is posted. You can't tell to much in the picture but his one ear is bigger then the other, I'm kind of worried about how strong his arms are but as long as my nephew doesn't try to take the shirt off to violently I think the teddy will be ok.
2544  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: any ideas for wooden spools? on: November 16, 2005 08:43:27 PM
More of a gag then anything. Take the spool and cut small nothes on both ends. Take a long nail and stick it through the hole. Tie yarn/string around the middle and loop around several times. Wind the yarn. Hold on to the nail and place the spool loosely on the window and pull the string very fast. It will make a horrible noise on the window, and if the people inside are not expecting it the noise will scar the crap out of them  Grin
This can break the window though so don't do it to much in the same spot. When my Grandma was young(try the 1915 til the 20's) her and her friends would pull this prank on their neighbors. My Grandma showed me how to make these when I was little but refused to allow me to try them on her windows to much, lol.

I love the smore ornimants! I've secretly covited them but for whatever reason have never bought myself one, lol.
Now you've inspired me to make my own Grin. Good thing I bought some sculpy clay while it was on sale.
2547  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Stocking Fillers! on: November 16, 2005 08:31:15 PM
I love stockings!! It's one of my favorite parts of Christmas, even after being in the Navy for three years if I don't make it home my Mom still sends me one filled with goodies. The best part is I never know what's going to be in there, one year I found a expensive necklace mixed in with the goodies and the next it will just be some junk food and little things.

Junk food is awesome, you have to have something to eat once you get tired of holiday leftovers! Slim Jim's, M&M's and for my chocolate covered cherries. Yum.

For a teenage girl if they're crafty or you want to make them crafty you could put together a little kit. Like make your own jewelery or something.

Altoid/matchbox shrines to them or something they like.

2548  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: "_____ in a box" gift ideas. on: November 16, 2005 08:25:05 PM
This is crazy that this thread is still going!

i'm leaving in jauary for a semester in spain as an exchange student. so for christmas i'm gonna give my boyfriend a 'forget me not box' with stuff so he won't forget me while i'm gone, any ideas as to the kinds of things i should put in? Smiley
This is a cute idea. You could put in it:
-shrine to you or your relationship
-a favorite movie that you guys watch together(or the first movie you all saw together)
-something that smells like you
-10 reason why you love him or are going to miss him
-stationary to write you. Trust me I've done a 3 year longdistance relationship, letters are better then phone or email. Well not better but people will put in letters what they wont say on the phone.
-mementos from dates you've been on

My friend is obsessed with penguins, so, I was thinking about making her "Penguin In A Box" for her birthday

Does anyone have any ideas?
I love penguins they're so cute! You could put in of course a penguin be it a stuffed animal or something nicer.
A tux or something in a tux
an instruction card on how to wiggle like a penguin, you know waddle then wiggle your butt.
Ok that's all I've got but hope it helps.
