1  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Massive Dye Job -- My Finished Skeins! on: July 12, 2007 11:47:37 AM
After many days of stained hands and countertops, I have finally completed round one of dyeing! It was a ton of fun to test out the different yarns and how they took to the dye...

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Mesh OSW... just in time for summer! on: June 19, 2007 03:55:12 PM
Once upon a time, a girl bought a taupe dress from Target.
On her way home, she walked into Michael's and saw some taupe cotton ease. She bought some, despite being on a yarn diet, and brought it home to play with.

2 days later... a mesh one-skein wonder is complete!

I am so glad that I modified it with the mesh pattern... I don't feel like a linebacker anymore when wearing an OSW.
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Falling Leaves socks - I'm on a sock rampage! on: June 13, 2007 12:29:00 AM
Woot woot... I have completed my fourth pair of socks!

Thanks to Jessica Landers for the great pattern that was featured in the Fall 2005 Knitty.  Kiss

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Snowflake Lace Socks on: June 04, 2007 08:19:46 PM
I've been on a sock-knitting kick of late... even though it is officially sandal season in California!

Here's the one that I finished recently:

Closeup of the lace:

Pattern used: Snowflake Lace Socks by Melanie Berney, from the Sept, 2006 Magknits: http://magknits.com/Sept06/patterns/snowflakesocks.htm

Yarn: Knit Picks "dye your own" 100% merino sock yarn

Everyone should try this pattern... it's a bit harder to remember than some other lace patterns, but you get used to it after a while and have fun with it Smiley

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / teva durham's ballet top with sleeve mods on: May 09, 2006 02:10:47 AM
just wondering... is there another place (other than the IK Summer 2004 issue) that I can find the mods for the long-sleeved version of the ballet top? i would love to knit one up with long sleeves, but do not have this magazine.

if someone would like to spare their copy for a trade of some sort, please message me.

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my very first sweater! on: May 05, 2006 09:43:44 PM
I can finally say that I've knit up my own sweater!
I posted it in the KAL area, but I can't contain my excitement since it is my first and all Smiley

Thanks to Calista for a great pattern... here's my McQueen knockoff sweater!
10  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Calista's Alexander McQueen Knockoff Sweater on: April 17, 2006 06:01:07 PM
based on Calista's cute pattern as shown here: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=77854.0

I DLed the pattern and cast on using Lion Brand Wool-ease Sportweight (bought on sale at Joann.com). So far, I've completed one of the bodice sections and one sleeve.

Here's the progress shot... don't mind Miss Tyra, who tends to enjoy sitting on all my knitted pieces!

If anyone else is knitting or thinking about knitting up this piece. please share your thoughts and progress here Smiley
