1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / My new hat!!!! on: March 03, 2012 10:41:01 PM
I am so happy with how this came out so I wanted to share!

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Picture Boards I made on: March 02, 2012 05:15:27 PM

3  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Update to barbie furniture... barbie bed tutorial ** Pic Heavy!** on: January 06, 2012 09:15:20 PM

Ok. So Here is step by step of how I put this together and just because I was asked she got a new one tonight. lol. Now the tools you will need are:

1. Glue (I use tacky glue and hot glue. You can use both or either alone both work but you gotta hold things longer and wait for them to dry with the tacky but it is cheaper.... lol. )

2. shoe box. (any size will work. any style. The first one i used in a previous post was a puma shoe box and those are shaped funny.

3. old clothes from your kids ( i like to use old sleepers and anything that has a lot of space with no seems or designs but you are your own crafter)

4. scissors (cloth cutting)

Step one. Box...

Step 2

Sleeper, I cut the back out and make sure it will fit the top of the box.

Step 3

Trim up the sides so that you don't have as much fabric to deal with.

Step 4

Line the sides of the box with glue

Step 5

Start holding the sides up to the glue the best you can. Use clips or anything you have to help.

Step 6

Trim up to the edge of the box lid so ensure you can still close the box at the end.

Step 7

Glue up all the corners and edges that are lose and clamp them the best that you can to hold them. I used some hair clips.

Step 8

Take the bottom of the box and the fabric you want to cover it. I found a skirt that I liked that fit around it so less cutting and gluing. lol. then I glued the inside edges to the box on the inside and hold them there till they start to dry.

Step 9

Glue the bottom in the same fashion trying to make it as flat as possible.

Step 10

We wanna make the blanket for the bed.

I cut the back off this shirt.

Step 11

Hot glue to the inside of the top of the lid.

Step 12

I cut the ends of the sleeves off and turned them into two open holes. I then glued one side so that it would seal and then stuffed it with leftover sleeper parts. glued the second side in and voila a pillow. trim the edges of the blanket and you have a bed.

Now you can even keep barbie stuff in it.

Hope you all enjoy. Sorry about all the pics. It is easier to explain this way.
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Doll Furniture **Pic Heavy** on: January 06, 2012 02:43:21 PM
Here is some barbie furniture I made for my nice using cardboard and old clothes that don't fit her anymore and a lot of glue! lol. If you want to know how to make it let me know and I will type up how I made them! I hope you all enjoy. I found this so much easier than trying to pay for the stuff at the store!

Whole set

I will say it is really easy to make and my niece loves them! She has this thing about putting her barbies to bed when she does and she didn't really have a bed so this is how I came up with everything! Hope you enjoy!
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / V-day for the single girl swap! on: January 06, 2012 01:58:48 PM
I was looking at the current swaps. Not seeing a whole lot for v-day and being a single girl at the moment thought maybe a swap for single girls would be fun. Could be anything but would be something to look forward to when you are single on v-day. Could be as simple as just some fun home made soaps to candles to some comfy blanky to snuggle with. I am not in a position to organize a swap but thought I would put the idea out there for anyone who might agree and wanna do this!
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Organza Rose w/ Sequins on: September 24, 2011 08:43:55 AM
So I saw a couple different ideas and tutorials on this and I kinda took how to make the petals and how to make a flower sequin middle and put them together. The finished product is below. Really cute. I was so excited to share this last night when I finished it but for some reason my pics wouldn't upload. But here you go. I had fun with it. I put one on a hair tie for my niece and then a couple on clips for my friends daughter but they are probaby gonna be christmas decor as I think they would be cute to decorate around a stocking or even the skirt of the tree. Hope y'all enjoy! YAY crafting. lol.

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Monkey themed Baby Shower Unisex (PIC HEAVY) on: September 23, 2011 01:27:23 PM
These are pics of the deco's i did for a baby shower earlier this month. Everything was made. I honestly don't think I bought anything but the paper plates and stuff like that. lol. Totally cute in my opinion. I had so much fun doing all of this.

Here is the diaper cake I made. First time I ever tried this btw. I had fun. The flowers are baby rags attatched to baby spoons and then the purple ones are baby spoons with flower petals from my scrapbooking hot glued on so it wouldn't damage the spoon.

**I don't recommend having any baby stuff around a 4yr old little girl who loves baby dolls. She tried to steal the pacifiers from the diaper cake and the diapers when I was putting it together. Her babies supposedly needed them too.  Roll Eyes  **

Here are the toothpick Monkey's I made for the cupcakes. My niece stuck her finger in this one... Sorry. lol.

Here are the invites. Making 25 of these was a lil bit of a pain but they turned out awesome.

Here is the sign, hard to see in the pic. Says Angel's Baby Shower on monkey's. Cheesy Then I did tissue paper flowers around the house with different types of ends. Some I curved the 'petals' and others were fringed and some were cut into a v.

The gifts. There were candles with the baby shower info on it in pink organza bags and then in the boxes were kisses with angel's baby shower stickers on the bottom.

The sign. It was a shame that rain came about the time we were ready to put it outside. Lukily I had friends that came to help set up the decorations after I had put them all together but rain just sucks. My poor sign looks droopy. Which by the way was dirty cheap to make. The stake is from walmart garden center, the white is just a poster board bent in half and hot glued to the stake and then the letters and monkey were cut outs from my cricut that I glued on. I had my friend's little girl tie on the balloons. Cheesy

So this is how it looked. If you can't tell she wanted a monkey theme. lol. Turned out amazing. Got a ton of compliments and people asking me to do theirs.
8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My love of flowers... on: September 22, 2011 09:13:34 AM
Here are a few of my canvas works. I have a thing for flowers. They make me happy. This is just acrylic paints on basic white canvas. I love dark backgrounds with bright vivid colors and cherry blossoms are my favorite so I tried my best to do my interp. of a cherry blossom branch in the last one. Hope y'all enjoy. Kinda intimidating sharing stuff that is only on display in my apartment. lol.

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Candle Holders on: September 18, 2011 06:52:22 PM
I just put these together tonight. My idea was to use a couple of them for my jewelry since I have so much. Other thoughts are candle holders, change jars ect. But they turned out adorable and I hope that the people that they are going to enjoy them as much as I do. Cheesy

I made these with candle holders I found at the dollar store, and then i found some vinyl online in different colors and used my cricut machine to cut out some cool designs. Btw, for anyone who hasn't used vinyl, it can be tricky.
