1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Belly Dance Swap?!? on: September 27, 2006 11:50:41 AM
If this is still happening, I want to be in on it! I've been dancing for three years as of last week and I love it!!! I also love crafting!!!!!
2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Discussion and Questions / Re: I like big butts and I cannot lie! on: February 15, 2006 09:47:53 AM
I have the same problem! There's approximately six inches difference between my huge butt and my front. When I make skirts, I've learned to add the six inches in the back. I forgot to do that on my A-Line skirt for my bellydance costume so I had to make a yoke. I'm frustrated because I may as well forget about buying any skirt off the rack. Sad
Pants, of course, are another issue....I usually end up with a gaping hole in the back of my waist. I guess I could attach elastic to the waist bands, I've just been too lazy (or too busy knitting or working on the bellydance costume).

4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Baby wrap/Lullawrap question? on: October 12, 2005 09:45:09 AM
So I am trying to come up with this baby bunting blanket idea that I have in my head that I want to make for some friends who just adopted a newborn baby boy. Someone asked about baby sleeping bags in this forum and I saw the link to the Lullawrap. I went to the site and the instructions for use are: fold, tuck, secure. My question is how do you secure? I don't see how they secure this blanket. Anyone have one  of these and can enlighten me? Huh Here's a link to the item in question: http://store.yahoo.com/cloudb/lullawrap1.html

7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Gift for my Best buddies ever! on: June 15, 2005 07:53:56 AM
Here's something I think all of them would like and you could always modify it a bit for each friend! Seashell votive candleholders!
Here's what you do:
First off, if you're close to a beach, gather lots of seashells and bits of sea glass and sand. If you're unfortunate (like me) and you don't live by the beach, check out your local dollar store. The ones around here usually have shells and sand. If they don't, go to the craft store.
Next, you need to find some globe shaped vase things. They're small round glass containers. You also want to find some glass votive candle holders that fit like lids on the globe vases. Buy them at the same place so you can find ones that fit together well. Sometimes you can find them at the dollar store, but usually you have better luck at the craft store. Buy some votive candles. I look for the ones in my friends' favorite colors or scents.
Now for the fun part! Pour a little bit of sand into each globe. Add a few shells or bits of glass or whatever other little trinkets you come up with. You can choose to glue the candle holder/lid to the vase, but I never have. Sometimes I tie a pretty ribbon to the top of the globe/bottom of the candle holder. Add candle and you've got a cute little gift that's fairly cheap! Cheesy
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: Wedding Gift for 20 year olds on: June 15, 2005 07:30:45 AM
Hehe I found out last week that the couple I gave the picnic basket to for a wedding gift loved it a lot... so much in fact that they re-gifted the backpack picnic basket her parents gave her fiancee for Christmas (they had never used it)! They also loved the tablecloth/blanket I wrapped the basket in Grin
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Exterior Decorating / Yard Art / Gardening: Discussion and Questions / Recycling your fruits and veggies? Is it possible? on: May 27, 2005 01:49:54 PM
Okay, so I was thinking (yeah...probably dangerous!) that I would love to get a container garden going, but at the moment I'm horribly broke. So here I am at work plotting attempting something weird. We all know how to plant an avocado if we are so inclined. Apple seeds work just swell under the right conditions.
Soooo....what edibles can I buy from my produce section, eat, and plant the seeds? If this is possible, how would I go about doing it? canned tomatoes have seeds. There are poppy seeds in my spice rack, edamame in the freezer...could any of this be planted? What about strawberries? If I scraped off the seeds, could they be planted? Does anyone know where to look for information? I've looked, but I haven't come across anything. Huh
