Oh my god I am totally obsessed with these! I experimented today with making brooches in this way with fabric, but not sure the results are that great. However, tried it with an old tape measure and I think they look awesome!

Awesome idea - there is a video tutorial on the Makemagazine vodcast for this weekend:

Has links to a pattern for a messenger bag there tooo Smiley

3  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Razor cami knitalong? on: May 06, 2007 06:41:34 AM
Progress pics:

I'm about 4 inches in - I got bored with the ribbing so only did about an inch and a half (I am really impatient) This is my first ever non-accessory knit Smiley Wooo!

Recommended yarn and needles - let's hope it's the right size! How would you even go about trying it on without it coming off the needles? Is there some magic trick?

Hiya - I've just started this - using the suggested yarn and cast on 180 stitches because I have big boobs - I've been using 3.75 needles but the cable is 80cm.

Do you think it'll be ok, or will it be wrong? I don't really get the whole circular needle thang, as I've only recently started using them - does the extra length matter? The stitches aren't stretched or anything.

:is confused:

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / What to do with Lana Grossa Stella Print? on: January 07, 2007 01:41:44 PM
bought Lana Grossa Stella print in these beautiful rich peach/rust/gold tones because it was gorgeous and soft and wonderful. I figured I could google around and find something awesome to make from it, but to no avail.

I want to do something a bit more special than a drop stitch scarf - Any ideas?

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Ideas for Kidsilk Haze? on: December 10, 2006 01:57:33 PM

I'm looking for a simple lace scarf pattern for use with Kidsilk Haze - I have the most beautiful ball of it in a teal colour and everything I try just ends up confusing me!

I've tried the one in the new Magknits, and it infuriates me as I somehow end up dropping loads of stitches so I'm left with half the stitches I should have!

Basically, what I would like is a really simple lace pattern to try, I can't keep ripping out this beautiful yarn!

I know these posts are annoying, but please help!

I think it was actually less than one skein as I'd used some of it to make an ipod cozy :/
