1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Website Help and Advice Please! on: August 09, 2006 10:57:48 PM

I have my website layout but im not happy because I feel it dosent really reflect my jewelry line. My url is http://www.cr8tiveonedesigns.com It's done in php which im not familiar with it. I've taken dozen's of graphic/web design but im still lost. I'd be happy to show pieces of my jewelry and items to get ideas on a layout.

I've wanted to use a content managment system but due to fast frustration I'd like to veer away from it, unless someone wants to assist me. I want to offer paypal as my main form of payment while doing as little as possible to achieve a professional look.

I hope this wasn't too confusing.

Thanks for your help
2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Logo's and a Beading Question! on: April 10, 2006 08:51:21 PM

I have my own start up business as a hobby type thing I guess you can say. I also have a website in the works. I'm working on the packaging aspect right now and was planning to use the cardstock from Michael's that comes in packages of 50 and 30 the cardstock value packs. Anyhow, I'm planning to use the white and black sheets to use as a back to put the jewelery on. I'm wondering if there's an inexpensive way to to put my logo on my white cardstock on a laser? Or if anyone else can suggest something better? I was thinking of labels... but not sure at this point.

My beading question is I'm doing a preschool craft session with the kids on rocks and beads and I have already a slew of pony beads I've acquired over the years including some recently bought this year for a project I was doing. There's only 8-10 kids and i told her she would only have to pay me for what was used. I asked her what she seemed was fair to pay me and she said as much as five dollars or more.  Well, I kind of volunteered to do this so I feel tacky asking her to pay me for an hour. She doesn't seem to be giving me precise answers. It's for next Thursday so I wanted to prepare in advance. Also, since I'm not really using my beads I was going to make complimentary DIY kits for the kids to bring home along with my business card ( which I've got to make) to go along with it.

If anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it!

Thanks in advance,

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Michael's Project Sheets and AOL Tin's Spray Paint on: May 17, 2005 01:24:49 PM

How many of you who visit Michael's pick up their project sheets? I do and was wondering if anyone knows of a cool storage system for it? I have them in this odd pile and half the time I don't know what cool project's I've got from them I *Could* be doing!

Also, I'm spray painting my AOL tins and was wondering if theres an effective way to spray paint so most dosent get on the newspaper and onto the tin? Also how to "touch up" the thin sides easily?

Thanks so much!

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Funkadelic Abstract Foam Bracelets on: April 03, 2005 09:26:34 PM
Grin Hey! This is my first "real" art post. I hope im posting this in the right forum but anyhow.... I made these "Funkadelic Abstract Foam Bracelets" out of those cheap foam easy clean placemats. I love to be random and make my stuff with imperfections. The lines are not suppose to be straight lol! Hence my reason for being random. All I used was acrylic paint brushed on and then set to dry for like 5-10 mins... 15 max. Then I put modge podge on top to keep the glossiness. Pair that up with a black or contrasting ribbons and you got a very orignal bracelet!

I wanted to try that with the plastic placemats but i don't know what cut's through them. Any suggestions?

Thanks so much!
