Firehouse Gallery is on the left, 81 Naugatuck Avenue.

I think it's only open noon to 5, Thursday, Friday and Saturday:

From I-95 North or South take Exit 34 (Devon-Rte1)
Right off the exit onto Rte 1 South
Go 3 traffic lights to Naugauk Ave.
Left onto Naugatuck Avenue
Follow Naugatuck Avenue to near end, at traffic light.

I'd sew it onto a sweatshirt. Instant gratification.

Thank you for this pos; I learned something new and interesting. And the scarf is really beautiful.

Well, the coat is really cute, but that dog is ADORABLE.  Congratulations on your new addition!
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Tot TV alternatives- got ideas? on: December 06, 2005 06:03:50 AM
Put a towel on the kitchen floor and a bowl of water, some dishwashing soap and a whisk. That sort of thing entertained my little guy.

Get a coffee can and cut a small X in the plastic top.  Have your son push crayons through the X.  Great for small motor skills.

As to TV, when you do break down and let him watch, put on a video instead of letting him watch the standard fare. That way you can control what he watches.  When he gets older he won't stumble upon the icky shows out there you would prefer he didn't watch.

Get a carpet sweeper or small dust devil and let him run around the house with it.  I have a friend whose son loved vacuuming.

Good luck.  Enjoy the winter. Bake lots of cookies.

How about hemp? Here's a link.

Also, silk, but it's not so good for big needles.
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knit 2, Purl 2 on: November 16, 2005 05:03:20 PM
You should be able to bring the yarn from back to front between the two needles, without creating a loop over either needle. Bring it over after you've slid the new stitch off the left hand needle but before you have put the right hand needle into the next stitch on the left.

It's hard to explain and what you might want to do is go to a knitting shop and ask them to show you.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Glass Knitting Needles on: November 12, 2005 10:51:09 AM
Those are beautiful; have you tried them yet?  It seems like the yarn would slip around too much.  But they do like nice gifts for the knitters in your life.  They would be awesome hair ornaments.
