1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Red Mega Man Hat?? on: February 02, 2009 01:06:46 PM
So a while back my  boyfriend saw this photo:

and told me that he'd like a red mega man hat. I don't knit or crochet or anything like that, I just sew and I can make like winter hats and stuff with ear flaps. My question is does anyone know how the red mega man hat looks? (I know nothing about mega man!) Or even better if anyone has ever made a red mega man hat? (I think red mega man looks different from blue right? So just using that picture as a template and just making it red probably wouldn't work..)  I found just a couple of pictures by searching google but there wasn't very many and they all seemed to be different. (does red mega man exist or is he crazy?) I'd ask him but I want it to be a surprise (he thinks I've forgotten about it.) I'm pretty sure he'd want an old nintendo version look not like what the new mega man looks like.. (I don't know what I'm talking about, lol. I need help figuring this out!) Anyone know anything about mega man at all? Or anything that could help me out? (like ideas on fabric and stuff like that would be great too) I'd really like to get it done by Valentines day if at all possible. Thanks in advance!! Sorry if I make no sense!! Sad
2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My new friend, Mr. Walrus! on: January 28, 2009 05:42:51 AM
I bought this book ( http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Wonderful-Fleece-Animals-Full-Size/dp/1589233840/ref=pd_sim_b_1 ) and finally received it last night! My first project from it is Mr. Walrus! Mine doesn't look near as cute as the one in the book. I didn't have any fleece so I used a weird velvety fabric and some craft felt. But he was lots of fun to make. Cheesy The patterns and instructions were easy to fallow too. I only had one problem when I had to attach the muzzle part but that was mainly cause it was like 2 something in the morning and I was a tad tired, lol. Here he is! Cheesy

I took him out to play in the snow this morning. I think he had a good time. Cheesy

Body shot!

and just a little close up. Cheesy

I need to go to the craft store soon and get more stuffing. I used all I had left on him. Sad I'm excited to make the other animals! Cheesy

Thanks for looking! Comments and criticism are always welcome! Cheesy
3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Nintendo DS purse/case! on: January 14, 2009 02:12:51 PM
My niece was getting a pink Nintendo DS for her 12th birthday last month, so I decided to make her a little purse/case thing for it! Here it is:

It's made from a flannel fabric that has little apples all over it. The inside is a purple kind of fuzzy fabric (that's really soft) and I put some more thicker fabric in between the two fabrics to give it some protection in case she drops it and stuff.

Picture of the inside!

I was happy to see when I went back home for Christmas that she was using it and liked it a lot. Cheesy ( I was afraid she might have thought it was too kiddie looking since she's turning 12, but she's a big girly girl and likes that sort of stuff still. Cheesy )

Thanks for looking! Cheesy
4  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A little owly! on: January 14, 2009 02:02:41 PM
I made this little guy yesterday. I got the inspiration from an owl pillow here:
I made mine out of a sea foamy green kind of velvety fabric and I didn't sew the the front pieces, I used fabric fusing stuff instead. (I just wanted to make something quick and easy, was in a lazy mood. :/ ) But! Here's my version!

I think he's pretty cute. Cheesy  His nose is different, I thought the one on the site looked kind of snooty, lol.
I think I'll make more of them. I just need some better owl stuffie fabrics!

Thanks for looking! Cheesy
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / 3 t-shirt grocery bags! :D on: January 13, 2009 11:06:03 PM
I made 2 of these last night and the orange one I just finished up. They're made from old t-shirts I wore when I was a teenager. I was going to donate or throw them out or something but thought of the idea of making grocery bags out of them instead since I was in need of some! Cheesy Here they are!

I just finished this one up. I added some little felt circles at the bottom cause it would of been kind of boring without anything.

with stuff in it!

close up of circles.

First one I made. I'm not so fond of the handles. I think I may change those out. Too shiny.

holding stuff!

This one has a weird bleach stain on it. I was going to throw it out but it'll work good for groceries instead! Cheesy

With stuff in it!

That's it! I think I'll make more of them. They were fun and easy to make. Thanks for looking! Cheesy
6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Turniphead messenger bag! and stuff. :D on: November 19, 2008 02:42:51 AM
I made a Turniphead messenger bag for the Hayao Miyazaki/ Studio Ghibli Swap.(https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=277223.0 ) It was my first time making an actual messenger bag. (I've made an awful tiny one a long time ago without using any patterns. It was really bad..) I was always really intimidated to make a messenger bag but it really wasn't that bad. Cheesy I also made a pouch and 2 coin purses with the same theme. Here's the pictures:

The outside fabric is a sturdy canvas type fabric.

Close up of turniphead. He's made from craft felt. I didn't do too good on the stitching. Sad

The inside! It has two pockets.

Totoro coin purse.

Turniphead coin purse.

I had a ton of fun with that swap. Cheesy  Thanks for looking! Comments are always welcome.  Grin
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Nintendo DS Swap? on: November 19, 2008 02:11:49 AM
I really haven't seen any swaps dedicated to just the Nintendo DS. There was a DS case swap but I was thinking more like crafting anything to do with the Nintendo DS. Examples like: Cases, things to decorate the DS, something to do with your favorite DS games and stuff like that. I love my DS and would love to craft DS items and receive some. Is there any one else out there that has a DS or would be interested in this swap at all? I think it would be fun. Cheesy
8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / It's a Totoro! :D on: October 01, 2008 05:06:25 PM
I made a totoro today! Here he is!

I just bought a new sewing machine and this is my first sewing project I've done in a long time! It was lots of fun. Thanks for looking! Cheesy
9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Singer sewing machine help? What is this called? on: February 22, 2008 11:07:51 AM
Hi! I've been having a lot of trouble with my Singer sewing machine (model # 1725) for a couple years now. It breaks my needles pretty much every single time I attempt to sew anything. Would anyone have any ideas as to why? It keeps hitting the metal pieces like the plate and the turny thing (that holds the bobbin) on the inside. I have a picture of the needle holder: (also can someone tell me the actual name of this part? So I can maybe look it up.)

Does it look broken? I noticed a piece inside looked odd like maybe something else is suppose to be there to help hold the needle in place. Does anyone have a picture of one? Or maybe a picture of yours? Just to compare. I'm at a total loss. I really want to sew again, I haven't made anything in like well over a year. It's kinda sad. Sad So any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Cheesy Thank you!!
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Green and Yellow Camera Case! :D on: July 02, 2007 02:02:39 PM
I decided to be a little crafty last night and made my camera a nice comfy home! Cheesy I haven't sewed or been crafty at all in nearly a year. (been so busy) I was having a few problems cause I haven't done anything crafty in so long.. but! I figured it out and I kinda like the way it looks. Cheesy The green fabric is from a swap from hurricane_sc and the inside yellow fabric is a soft fleece. I also stuffed it a little with some stuffing! Aaand I got the inspiration from here:
But I didn't follow the instrutions, which I probably should have cause I was having quite a hard time figuring it out on my own. :/
Comments are always welcome! Cheesy

Close up of the button! It's a sad looking sun.

Thanks for looking!!
