1  Re: Make Me A Reusable Shopping Bag Swap Round 2 - The Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by tigarlilly on: March 26, 2009 02:15:36 PM
Also! Since I know i_am_138 received her package I will go ahead and post some pictures. Cheesy
This is what I made for her!

She said she liked the color black and zebra print so I found this fabric and made a Singlet style bag out of it. (it looks small but it expands.)

Here it is with whisp3rds bag with items in it to show that they expand. Also had to try them out to make sure they'll work well. Cheesy

all folded away in their pouches. (you've already seen pictures of whisp3rds bags but those are the only pictures I have of i_am_138s bag)

And last I made her this little extra zipper pouch and she also got the same chocolates as whisp3rd. Cheesy

I had a great time with this swap and had wonderful swap partners! Thanks again you two!! I love all my bags! Cheesy

I received from i_am_138 today!! She made a wonderful bag from a recycled sweater! I looove the fabric. Cheesy It's definitely my style. It probably was weird looking as a sweater but it makes an amazing bag!! Cheesy Here are the pictures!

The bag!

Close up of the bag with some neato buttons that go perfect with it!

And! She also included some yummy extras! Some vegan chocolate chip cookies from the bakery she works at (which are delicious! I've already been snacking on them!), a packet of almond butter (which sounds really yummy), 2 different flavors of fruit leather things (also yummy) and a pack of gum!!

She's awesome! Thanks for the wonderful package i_am_138! Cheesy

4  Red Mega Man Hat?? in Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage by tigarlilly on: February 02, 2009 01:06:46 PM
So a while back my  boyfriend saw this photo:

and told me that he'd like a red mega man hat. I don't knit or crochet or anything like that, I just sew and I can make like winter hats and stuff with ear flaps. My question is does anyone know how the red mega man hat looks? (I know nothing about mega man!) Or even better if anyone has ever made a red mega man hat? (I think red mega man looks different from blue right? So just using that picture as a template and just making it red probably wouldn't work..)  I found just a couple of pictures by searching google but there wasn't very many and they all seemed to be different. (does red mega man exist or is he crazy?) I'd ask him but I want it to be a surprise (he thinks I've forgotten about it.) I'm pretty sure he'd want an old nintendo version look not like what the new mega man looks like.. (I don't know what I'm talking about, lol. I need help figuring this out!) Anyone know anything about mega man at all? Or anything that could help me out? (like ideas on fabric and stuff like that would be great too) I'd really like to get it done by Valentines day if at all possible. Thanks in advance!! Sorry if I make no sense!! Sad

I thought I'd go ahead and post a few pictures I took before I sent my package to maiziemama in case she's not able to. She can post better ones when she gets a chance, I didn't take very good ones.

This is everything. Smiley At the top and the left side is some brown and black fuzzy fabric that kind of blends in with my table, lol. :/

One of the baggies. It has some scrap fabric in it!

This one has some buttons, beads, stickers and other odds and ends.

And this one has embroidery string, lace, zippers and ribbon in it. Smiley

She said her and her daughter liked everything so I'm happy! Smiley

6  Re: My new friend, Mr. Walrus! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tigarlilly on: January 28, 2009 07:05:06 AM
oh my, he's adorable! how big is he? my sister is a huge seaworld fan, and something like this would totally be up her alley (if I ever get my sewing machine... bah christmas present yeah right).

definitely gave you a "this rocks," because he's too adorable.

He's a pretty good size! I measured him and length wise from the front bottom part to the tip of his tail flippers is nearly 15 inches. Height from his head down is nearly 10 inches. And about 5 inches in width, I think, lol. They're large size patterns, like normal stuffed animals. Cheesy
Here's a picture of him with my kitty and my kitty is pretty large. Smiley

And, aww thanks! Cheesy Glad you like him!

7  My new friend, Mr. Walrus! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tigarlilly on: January 28, 2009 05:42:51 AM
I bought this book ( http://www.amazon.com/Wild-Wonderful-Fleece-Animals-Full-Size/dp/1589233840/ref=pd_sim_b_1 ) and finally received it last night! My first project from it is Mr. Walrus! Mine doesn't look near as cute as the one in the book. I didn't have any fleece so I used a weird velvety fabric and some craft felt. But he was lots of fun to make. Cheesy The patterns and instructions were easy to fallow too. I only had one problem when I had to attach the muzzle part but that was mainly cause it was like 2 something in the morning and I was a tad tired, lol. Here he is! Cheesy

I took him out to play in the snow this morning. I think he had a good time. Cheesy

side view.

Body shot!

and just a little close up. Cheesy

I need to go to the craft store soon and get more stuffing. I used all I had left on him. Sad I'm excited to make the other animals! Cheesy

Thanks for looking! Comments and criticism are always welcome! Cheesy

I got my box from elizabethn Saturday! I worked all weekend and haven't got a chance to post pictures till now! I loved everything she sent! I'm super excited to use the fabrics and everything! Cheesy Here's some pictures:

Just opening it up! My kitties thought they had got something in the mail!

Everything! So much fabric! Her box was bulging at the sides, lol. Not the best picture to see everything. But there's large pieces of fabric, fabric samples, a container full of buttons and all kinds of trinkets, pink yarn, red thread (which is great cause I was needing some red thread! I was actually making a list of things I need from the craft store next time I go and red thread was on there, lol.) some crayola true color crayons (again great cause I was going to buy these at the store I work at when they went on clearance but by the time I went to buy them, we had sold out. Sad ), some zippers and a few other things as well! I was super excited!! Cheesy

the items that are in the container. Cheesy Lots of fun stuff!

Thank you elizabethn! I love everything! I've already been thinking of ideas for the fabrics and some of the buttons. Cheesy Thank you!! Cheesy

And I also got my flat rate boxes in the mail Saturday too! So I hope to be sending probably Tuesday. I've already got it all packed up and ready to go! Cheesy

9  Nintendo DS purse/case! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by tigarlilly on: January 14, 2009 02:12:51 PM
My niece was getting a pink Nintendo DS for her 12th birthday last month, so I decided to make her a little purse/case thing for it! Here it is:

It's made from a flannel fabric that has little apples all over it. The inside is a purple kind of fuzzy fabric (that's really soft) and I put some more thicker fabric in between the two fabrics to give it some protection in case she drops it and stuff.

Picture of the inside!

I was happy to see when I went back home for Christmas that she was using it and liked it a lot. Cheesy ( I was afraid she might have thought it was too kiddie looking since she's turning 12, but she's a big girly girl and likes that sort of stuff still. Cheesy )

Thanks for looking! Cheesy

10  A little owly! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by tigarlilly on: January 14, 2009 02:02:41 PM
I made this little guy yesterday. I got the inspiration from an owl pillow here:
I made mine out of a sea foamy green kind of velvety fabric and I didn't sew the the front pieces, I used fabric fusing stuff instead. (I just wanted to make something quick and easy, was in a lazy mood. :/ ) But! Here's my version!

I think he's pretty cute. Cheesy  His nose is different, I thought the one on the site looked kind of snooty, lol.
I think I'll make more of them. I just need some better owl stuffie fabrics!

Thanks for looking! Cheesy
