I got two baby quilts done so that is something LOL

The first one was done with blocks from the last round of the Quilt Block Swap, thanks to all my partners for their amazing work!
First one front

Back

This one I loved the fabric and they had this pattern as a freebie to use the fabric line with so I did. Turned out very nice
second Front:

back:

When my daughter comes next month so we can scatter my late husbands (her step fathers) ashes at the Coast, she will take back both of these for her co-workers.

I needed something to think about other then death so I said I would make quilts for her to give as gifts.
it helped

well and wonderment

Discussion Question: Let's talk binding? What do you love for binding? Certain fabric, print vs solid? Do you use any special technique?

I normally try and use a solid that goes with the quilt over all. I just make binding strips, sew together and put on quilt. I do hand quilt the other side I know it can be done on the machine but that is one of things I like is finishing it that way

Monday May 9th Checkin

Today's Discussion Question: Let's talk about thread! Do you love a certain brand of thread or just go for whatever works and is close at hand?

I normally use all cotton and my go to brand is aurifil. I normally try and use an off white when piecing then match the color of my quilting to whatever color I want to stand out in the quilt

May 2 Check In
Today's Discussion Question: Do you do any charity quilting? For whom? What's your go to pattern if you have one?

I have in the past for a local charity that gave quilts to people were having a hard times, house fires, floods, illness in the family. Most of the ones I make to give are child size twin size or smaller.
I like to use a simple block like pinwheels for I can use a lot of colors and they blend together well. I also like to do fuss cut blocks and call it an I spy quilt for kids, using bits of large print and themed fabrics.
